This pole is to see what type of quiver you like while hunting . We will assume this is big game from a stand .
not sure what you mean by shoulder strap or hip quiver unless talking about the G Fred style or a true hip style familiar to target archers.
my favorite quiver was not listed. A side quiver...commonly in form of what is called a Lakota quiver. I have back quiver, GN Bow quiver and year after year go to the side quiver more than anything. My only complaint is I can only use 2 blade heads so during turkey season or other times I want a 3 blade I have to put a GN on my bows. Love the quivers but prefer a naked bow. So I have one on order from Steve Catts that will let me use 3 bladed heads without issue.
My vote is Side Quiver...
I have not hunted from a tree for a long while. On the ground on the move i like my Selway quiver.
I voted bow mounted quiver because for me it is the most convenient.
Brock , I am kinda lumping those into one grupe .
GFA and belt hip quivers , Lakota style and any other carried quiver .
I like my Lakota type. easy to get out of the way and easy to hide it behind me. And the other day used it to decoy a coyote in.
Bow mounted, easiest thing I've found to use when hunting from a climber; if I only ground hunted I'd probably look into a back quiver.
I prefer a bow quiver for ease of access, as well as the added weight for stability.
I like a Great Northern kickback for longbows, and Thunderhorns for recurves.
Great northern sidekick (shoulder strap) for me!

I like the convenience of a bow quiver. For stumping and the occasional small game hunt I throw on a back quiver but the rest of the time is all bow quiver for me.
I like a back quiver. I hunt from the ground almost exclusively now, but I used them when I hunted a lot from tree stands too.
To be honest, I started using them when I was younger because I liked the way they looked, and my heros used them. I've tried other styles over the years, but I haven't found anything I like as well.
In thick brush I let it slide down along my side some, so my arrows are pointing more to the rear, and it slides right through with no hang ups.
I've used a Vista back quiver for the past 21 years. It has a good sized zippered pocket on the back that carries a lot of stuff that would end up in my pockets otherwise.

I am surprised by how this is turning out .
I would not have guessed that a mounted on the bow would be that popular .
I am very surprised at how low the back quiver did .
I personally like the GFA because of how I can keep it under my arm and very simply slide it to my back in thick brush .
I have been thinking of using a Selway slid on because I got one as a gift .
Thanks for your votes and input .
I haven't used a bow mounted quiver since the 60's when the Kwikee Kwiver had uncovered broad heads. Yes, I stabbed myself in the leg with it. It gave me a bad taste that I never got over. Since taking up the longbow, I have preferred the back quiver. I take it off while on the stand, using it more as a freight hauler than anything else.
Nothing beats a good, quality back quiver.
I'm with Joe Skip
Bow mounted. I take it off once in tree and hold it on stand using a wire tied binder clip deal. May take along side quiver w skirrel arrows also this year.
I have a Palmer side/back quiver with a top cap and side access that I like a lot. I own several others in both bow and back versions, but I like this one the best.
Arrows flopping around on my back while negotiating deadfall.... no thanks, bow quiver please!
Back quiver here too. No flopping on mine lol!

German Ridge Quiver
Tried just about every kind of quiver and they all have at least one drawback, but for ME, a good plains style quiver is where its at. Keeps my bow naked, good protection for the arrows, and I can move it around to what is comfortable.
