How many strands of Fury is recommended for a 50 pound longbow?
Ask Allen Shafer (Ten Ring Strings) a sponsor here. He uses Fury for his FF strings now.
Just got my Fury string from Allen for my 50lb Whip.
18 strands
REM, which tire is best for a chevy? haha.
It is really whatever you want. How many would be strong enough for #50? I'd bet 6 would hold it as good as 20, it would just stretch more, etc.
There are 2 very important components of a bowstring if you ask me, ample thickness in the loops and the proper serving fit.
Other than that, it is personal preference.
If I were you, I'd go with whatever number would make your serving work. I'd bet around 18 would be good, but don't know what serving you have.
I use 20-22 ..going from 20-22 on same bow only saw 1-2 fps loss at most
I am using 18 strands of Fury (with padding in the loops) on most of my strings. This gives the best combination of performance and stability (no creep) that I have found.
A couple strands in either direction will make little to no difference.
