I recently picked up a new to me Tall Tines 60" 44@28. I am drawing it to 29". I have tried 2016's and 2117's cut to 30" with 125 up front. Both of them are hitting about 6" to the right. The strike plate that is on it is pretty thick. Would a thinner strike plate make a difference?

Are you a right handed shooter? If so, then it would appear you're getting a weak indication. Or a false weak indication. However, knowing that a talltines is cut past center by 1/8 inch I believe, then it might make sense that the bow requires a stiffer arrow. If you make the strike plate thinner and your arrow is already showing weak then it will only show weaker. I'm suprised a 2016 with 125 didnt work for you though.

Shooting arrows bareshaft right? Yes weak arrow. Shortening arrow will make it stiffer, if you have enough extra length. A thicker strike plate will make arrow stiffer, and a lower brace height if possible. I would shorten the arrow. Is your shooting form ok?
I'm betting you are getting a false weak. I'd say these arrows esp 2117 s are too stiff for your bow. You can add a bunch of point weight to see if it changes things. If you can get your hands on a 600 carbon like gt 1535 s I'll bet they will put you in the ballpark.
Been thinking about this a little more. Currently I am shooting a 4-fletch arrow. Could the 4-fletch hitting the strike plate cause me to get a false weak?
you need to bareshaft tune. Those 2117 are way to stiff. A number of form problems will also give you weird results when bareshaft tuning. Especially your release and your bow arm. I have found that the further away from center cut your bow is the more sensitive it is to torque as well.
