Title: ilf limbs
Post by: Breathn on June 20, 2015, 12:02:00 AM
I've been building bunch of ilf Bows lately for myself and some customers.Have had many sets in my hand and tested them all in every aspect.Lots of good limbs out there now to choose from ,fastest I've tested were borders hex 6.5 ,havnt shot hex 7 ilf yet but do have covert hunter ordered and will eventually get hex 7 ilf for a warf riser I'm almost done with. .but gotta say all around hard to beat dryad limbs ,super quiet on risers I've had to really play with to get others quiet on and great speed..got set of epic ilf recurve limbs few weeks back from dryad and limbs look ,feel and perform great. If your in market I'd look them up for sure.

Yeah we have a set of legend limbs and guess it's the epic riser and then two orion risers with one set of ACS RC limbs and two sets of ACS longbow limbs, sweet shooters for sure!

I haven't had a chance to shoot dryad limbs yet. But I'm going to order a set of LB limbs once I get some play money built up

What kind of speed did you get out of the Border 6.5 limbs bro?  I've been building a few ILF limbs myself lately and am curious about the hex 6.5. I haven't tested those yet, or the dryad limbs either for that mater..... Dryad has been in the ILF game for quite awhile now, So it doesn't surprize me they have some nice limbs.

Have you tried any long bow limbs? I have a set and I find them to be the best of both worlds.

At 9gpp on hex 6.5 limbs on a Morrison Phoenix xd riser I was getting 199-201 fps consistent with fingers at 30 in ..same arrow and pds with ******** black max got 193fps..I'm getting some centaurs built soon for a crazy warf I'm building ,just gotta do little machining on riser and figure what I need weight wise

What about the black max carbon supreme limbs or the win-win limbs?
It seems we never see these products on this site, yet they are what Olympic archers use and I am sure they go after the best limbs available. Dryad and DAS stuff gets a lot of PR on this site and are connected to sponsors here which is fine.
It's just that I think there are probably the top designs out there that we never discuss.

I ended up at a local range a while ago where a very high level FITA shooter was doing some practice (shooting 55 plus scores on the 70 metre target)...he had 3 bows there with two of them wearing the Hex 6.5 limbs (he is a Specialist Doctor and was saying the price of the Hex 7's is holding him back from trying them)...some very competent Olympic archers, ones who pay for their limbs, shoot Borders...if I was wanting to put together a "next level" bow it would be wearing Dryad ACS recurve limbs...I would say they are a steal at the price with a force draw curve much like the Hex 7

Check out Pete Ward's testing of the Covert Hunter to see what a Hex 7 force draw curve looks like and what kind of velocity those limbs are capable of...I doubt the Dryads give up much or even anything to them with that same sort of "let-off" force draw curve getting down to around a pound per inch near the end

I have a set of medium Sebastian Flute Ultimate Pro's, 44lbs on a 25" riser. I have them on a 15" Morrison and am pulling 54@29, thats the end of the line for these limbs as far as draw length. For what its worth, my chrono says 9gr lb at 193fps with fingers. I like em, they are very smooth for a conventional limb design. They are also as quite as any other recurve I've shot.

I have not tried the Dryad but have tried Morrison Max-1's, Hex-5's and Samick BF Extremes. I think if I was to buy another limb it would be W&W Ex-prime or the new Wiawis One limbs. However, not many reviews on the Wiawis One limbs yet so I'll wait awhile till more come in, the one I did read said they were kind a loud.
