I chose Cocobolo and Bolivian Rosewood. 64" 55lb @ 28. I am very impressed with the way it shoots and of course how stunning it looks. I am pleased beyond expectations.

That's a beauty!
Beautiful is not enough. What a beauty and I bet a smooth shooter also. Congrats.
WOW!
very nice that will be one to keep a very long time !! love those black tails
beautiful bow...can't go wrong with a blacktail
what are the limbs btw?
Best looking bow made...and they're "killers" too!
Blacktail Bows are know for their beauty, people don't realise that they are first incredible shooters and performers. Great looking bow by the way.
That is a sweet looking recurve. How long was the wait? I have one on order. Hopefully, should be here in Oct/Nov timeframe. I chose a 1pc with Cocobolo and Wenge with Cocobolo limbs. Ken
Very fine ... they do make beautiful bows
Incredible bow! I just ordered one a week ago. I've been wanting one for years!
I was quoted 7-8 months for delivery
Awsome looking bow,Congrats! :archer2:
Very nice, bet she is super smooth @28 being 64"
Real nice, the colors just look right together! Something about it that just looks perfect for hunting.
WARNING : you can't stop at just one( I love red bows) (http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq136/bloodtrailer7/36021c41-fc02-43b9-9387-7702f75d3818_zpsow8v22ve.jpg)
Rosewood one left ,Cocobolo on the right
You have reached the mountain top, sleep with it tonight....
Beautiful bow!
I own a Sitka now and have another due in Sept. or Oct.
I shot some 3D with Norm last week and got to shoot the new longbow he has available. A sweet shooting bow to be sure!

Matching woods to the riser. Keeps it elegant I think.

The wait was almost exactly 9 months.
Very Nice!...amazing that such a stunning bow is so satisfying but not the highest price woods. a great, great choice!
Beautiful! Congrat!!!
Very Nice! Blacktail #3 should be on it's way any day now....
Beautiful bow...congrats!

Originally I was looking to do the Cocobolo with colored Myrtle, then I decided on going with a darker looking bow. Walnut is only offered with the Legacy series so Rosewood is the closest to Walnut. It was a nice surprise to see them complement each other so well.
Looks a lot like mine. I sent it back for the satin finish. It used to be glossy. The new finish is much tougher than the old glossy finish, I think. And what a shooter, I have tried to replace it with other bows but every time come fall, or in this year's case spring, the Blacktail remains my go to bow.
Great looking stick!
Bisch
Thumbs up!
I love mine.
Everytime I see a photo of a new BT I want to order another...
Last year I was quoted 8-9 months-
Got it in 6.5
So good to hear your impression, Newhouse, of the longbows they're making now. I have one on order and should be here in a couple of months. Have an Elite VL and it is awesome so if the longbow performs the same, I will be one happy shooter. Good people with whom to deal.
Congrats on the new Blacktail. They are addictive though. I own 3 of them and they are shooters.
Norm builds a beautiful bow.... How can you not appreciate that one?... Congrats brutha!
Can't have just one? I found that out myself especially when you get bit by the snake.LOL
Had 5 and sold 2 back to 3 magnificent bows.LOL
very nice! I waited 13 months for mine several years ago.
mine is cocobolo and bocote.
Beauty!
Great looking bow, that second picture in the sun really shows the grain and colors, very nice.
I have my fourth Blacktail on order now, the last one took 18 months, this one 7 to 8 is what they are saying.
Good shooters, and I think the best looking bow made.
RW
Very nice looking bow!
Nice .....whats Norm use for core wood on the limbs?
I have a Wes Wallace Mentor, cocobolo riser w/yew limbs.
One word of caution Cocobolo will darken very quickly losing some of its beautiful character with the aging.
Man, that's a beautiful bow
Very beautiful bow. Just can't get around the price though.
