Title: I.D of these 3 Blades please...
Post by: Al Kidner on June 17, 2015, 07:24:00 PM
G'day guys,

Well a while back now some lads on the site sent me some gear to restock my inventory as I was robbed of a large amount of my archery tackle. No bows went thankfully... but the little so & so's took all my BH, nocks, and other bits and bobs we collect over time spent doing what we love to do.

Anyhow... I was sorting through and getting my gear ready for my up and coming trip to Africa and wanted to try a solid 3 blade this time.

I was sent a few types of heads but I am unsure what the bottom one is in this pic?

Im thinking its a VPA and Curt on here also agrees. But... when I went online to order some 200g screw in VPA's they came up as being red?

I am pretty sure the top one is a WW elite I bought of 3 Rivers.

Your thoughts guys?

The reason Im really keen to know is;

A: I am liking the looks of this head, but the main reason being,

B: As I'm using AD Traditional shafts (love these shafts!) they are a tad fatter at the point end and if I use the top pictured BH - what I'm thinking is a WW elite, it leave a lip that I'm sure will hinder penetration in my book.

See the below pic...

And this is what the lower BH looks like when mounted (the pic fails to really show it due to the angle I held it at)...

Other way around. Top one is VPA bottom is Woodsman elite.  VPA usually have less threads.  VPA makes the woodsman elite so same/same really

And....

I don't think I'll have any more problems with robbing thieves. My son moved in with me and he brought his cattle dog cross and we also bought a pure bread Blue Heeler.

Both are exceptional guard dogs!

Heelers are so very cool... They are super smart and love bugs but 1-man critters when it comes to things like trucks, porches, and such...

I learned FAST living in MT NEVER go up to the bed of a pick up with a heeler in it unless the owner was around...

Talk about a fast turn around from tail wagger to "rip yer face off" dog!        :scared:

I think you maybe right Biathlonman. Just spent 15 at some online stores and it does appear the other ways around...

Anyone else?

Al, still pretty sure that's an older version of VPA, but either way they're both made by them so you can't go wrong bud.

Al,

I sent you that head and it is an older VPA.

Al,

I went back and looked at what I sent back then and I posted that they were Woodmen Elite (2ea).  And from the original thread about your stolen items I had posted a picture of the stuff, and it shows the BH's to have the longer shank and less threads    :dunno:   I had both at the house and used both so not sure if they got mixed up.  They were the 175'S.
