My friend Steve Darcy asked about the Zwickey Deltas and the term Black Diamond. So...Jack is a FB friend of mine and I asked him...his response:
Jack Zwickey Good question. "Black Diamond" is a term we used since the very beginning. Our very first broadheads were painted black, and since we believed they were both the most beautiful, and the toughest broadheads on the market, we coined the term "Black Diamond Broadheads". We slowly stopped using that name about 15 years ago, because it was confusing people. "Black Diamond Broadheads" referred to ALL of our broadheads, not one specific type of broadhead. Much like "Zwickey Broadheads" obviously referrs to ALL of our broadheads. So to make it simpler and easier to understand, we just started calling our broadheads by their individual names (i.e. Eskimo, Delta, Eskilite)
Interesting!! Thanks Joe!!
Simple enough. No argument there.
yep.
See the previous thread. Jack explained this when he spoke at the Wisconsin Traditional Archers banquet two years ago. My memory isn't totally gone. I had part of it right, except for the initial color. :)

What is the difference in the Delta and the Black Diamond Delta? Saw the Black Diamond is of course black but my Delta's are green and both are the same dimensions. Any help appreciated. Looked on the Zwickey website and it doesn't even show the Black Diamond. Thanks!

Same head. Black Diamond was a term applied to all Zwickey broad heads back in the day. Don't believe it's currently used in its advertising, just the names of the different head styles. Don't ever remember there being a black delta, though there may have been. They were green for a long time, then a bluish green for 10 years or so, and now green again.
