Title: centaur takedown system
Post by: deerhunter_w on June 12, 2015, 09:03:00 PM
Hello again,

I got my new centaur back in April and have been shooting  ever sence. I was wanting to take it down today, but the system is tight. I don't want to damage the bow. Do you have any suggestions or tricks? Thanks in advance.

Jeff

I would email the maker and ask him. If I remember his website correctly you have two bolts and two pins holding it together. Could be the pins have become froze in thier holes. Did you put any kind of wax or lube on them when you assembled the bow. The wax may have hardened and has the pins froze. Had this issue years ago with a Black Widow I waxed the pins with bow strong wax.

Call or email Jim @Centaur, he's a joy to deal with and will go out of his way to ensure you're taken care of.

I do some gunsmith work, and when I get done with a bedding job I sometimes have a hard time getting them apart.

I like to wrap it up it blankets, and take a rubber mallet and lightly hit around where I need things to come loose.

You will not mar anything, and most likely this is all it will take.
