Well, it's getting closer for Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont Moose drawings!
Who is in and let us know your outcome. As a past Maine non-res. drawee (?), I am a continual optimist   !
I'm not in any draws, but I sure am thinking I would like to do a moose hunt one of these days!

I skip the draws and go directly to where I can buy a tag. Just over 3 months till I head out for a 2 week DIY moose hunt.
To me it's like playing the lottery, I don't like to gamble, and prefer to be able to plan well in advance of any hunt.
Two Week Moose hunt. Sounds great! I hunted moose once several years ago in BC. Kind of an odd outcome.

Last ve too but its one moose per lifetime here in Colorado.
Tough to impossible to draw here so I just enjoy them when they wander across my property. :)

Aaannnddd...
You leave us hanging with that?!?!
OTC for me and hunt out my back door.
Sorry :D :dunno:
Next year in Newfoundand.
I'm in for Maine. Been lucky so far this year, drawing two elk tags so, what the heck might as well try for a trifecta. Someone has to win, might as well be me.
Good luck, Pete!
I am headed to Alberta this September to hunt Bullwinkle.
Darren
In for Maine - long odds, but someone is going to be the lucky one.

Mike where are you headed?
I wish I was. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time, but circumstances won't allow it right now. I should have done it a bunch of years ago.
When it comes to wild meat, moose is at the top of my list. Delicious! And it has to be a rush to hunt them.
I've seen a few tracks up at camp, and It's cool just knowing they're there, but that's a long way from hunting them. Maybe someday.
Good luck to you folks that are in the lottery, and to all of you on your hunts. I wish you the best.

I use to be in all of them until I found out how bad the odds were for non residents.
no moose this year. Going to CO elk hunting. Probably moose in Alaska next year.
Mike
I'm in for all three of those
In for Maine myself. Home state NH has a declining moose population and has reduced the draw permits this year to 127, I believe, for the state. Personally would like to see the season suspended until the numbers rebound.
I'm headed back to Alaska Sept 1 to Sept 18.
I'm in for Maine. Longshot but worth the fun just to have a chance. Got a call from Eldon Jandreau a couple of days ago . I'm sure he'll be guiding someone - maybe a tradganger!
A Canadian Moose hunt is being prescribed in my near hunting future!
My friend Curt and I hunted moose in BC years ago. You couldn't hunt with out the guide close by and the guide wouldn't get out of the truck. Kept saying " drove around the corner here last year and a moose was standing right there, could've shot it with your bow."
Ended up with Curt using the outfitters rifle and I trying to use the guides rifle to shoot a moose that was standing in a clear cut as we drove around the corner. Only the guides rifle had a cigarette but stuck in the chamber. Curt knocked the moose down with the rifle and I ran up to it and shot it with an arrow as it tried to get up. Moose meat but not a great hunt.
Hope everyone hunting moose this year has a great hunt.
