Hello all first post new to the sight. I stumbled upon a Groves spitfire magnum at an auction yesterday that was bundled with a couple other bows and got them cheap. This bow caught my eye but don't really know much about it. Admittedly I'm not a traditional guy but have shot traditional before and really just enjoy shooting. This bow is probably a 8-9/10 but could probably use a light cleanup. Can you guys help me out with info on this bow. History, age, value. Anything really. It needs a string so would like to find one for it, it's a 60 in. I believe. Thanks in advance.
You may get more responses on the"Trad History/Collectors" forum quite a way down from this forum.
Ok thanks
Use a bow loader to string it or you will wreck it. I have one, they are just about one of the nicest shooting recurves around and fast.
I have bow envy. What are the specs on the bow?
Bill specs are 60 in., 48# @ 28 in. Draw.
Contact Rick Rappe at classicbows.net. Awesome guy. He wrote three books called Vintage Bows I,II and III. They have some good info on Groves. They are a high quality vintage bow. Rick can give you some good info by phone or email I bet. Good luck!
