Can you all describe the likes and dislikes on the Chinook grip?

One of the best grips out there. I had a classic gripped one and a regular gipped one. Both were fantastic.

The bows I have had from Teolke have been perfect for my hand in the grip. He always had me send a tracing of my hand and custom fit it.

I never held one but had a buddy tell me it was the best grip he ever held.  More chunky than a whip grip he said.

I really like the grip on my chinook. A very low grip, which I prefer. It sits the arrow right on top of your hand.

I have two Toelke Chinooks and the belly side of the grip is wide and and provides a low wrist position. the bow locates perfectly in ones hand. Everyone that has tried my Chinooks say they are the best recurves they have ever shot. The other aspect of the Chinook is that they are silent with only Cat Whiskers on the string. When you get your Chinook you will get two strings with Cat Whiskers already installed. I usually remove the factory Nock stop and install my own.

I'm with the others, the Chinook is the perfect grip for me.  I've got a classic and a standard and there really isn't that much difference between them.  I probably prefer the standard but only slightly.  Like shaking hands with an old friend.

Well I have a whip and an SS and both grips are just as natural as carrots and peas. So if the chinook bears any resembles I'm sure it would be the backstrap of Dan's reciepes of comfy grips..top class all the way. Will be placing an order for chinook in the next few months.    :archer:

I shot basically the same bow for 15 years. I used a nearly straight wrist.

When I ordered my Tolke a couple months ago Dan had me draw a couple of bows and observed my hand placement and made a grip accordingly.

All that said I am not shooting with quite as high a wrist but it is very comfortable. The locator is key to the comfort I would say.

The bow is awesome.....you will be pleased.

The Chinook grip is normally just a bit beefier than his Whip but I bought one last year and asked Dan to make it a bit smaller and he made it perfect. Best feeling grip on this bow that I have ever owned.

And if you want blow your mind goodness do what I did.  I sent my gorgeous one piece with standard grip to Dave Windaur and had him checker it.  You should see the look it puts on people's faces when they try it.
