If you were shooting a 45@27 Toelke whip would you go with a 1916 or an 1816? I draw right at 27"s. I have some 1916s already. They are 29 1/8 inches long. The bow is on its way to my house right now. I am curious if anyone thinks and 1816 would be better? I also have gt trad .600's that I assume will work just fine if the aluminums dont.
I Guess it would depend on how short you cut the arrows. And then how heavy you want your arrow to be. I have been playing with both and think the 1816 would be pretty sweet. I have a whip classic and both fly well. I like the skinny arrows.
I would think that the 1916's would be about right. Try them and see. If they are too stiff add some point weight. If they are too weak cut a little off and re-try. Only cut a 1/4 at a time and don't make them to short for your draw.
Good luck and have fun tuning your new bow.
1816 all day long that baby will fly like a dart
Ttt
A tougher arrow would be Carbons spined 35/55 cut 29" long with 250 grains up front.
I shoot 45@25 with AD trad Lites cut to 27" and they fly perfect. Just another of the myriad of options.
5/16 Wood arrows will fly like Missles out of that bad boy!
I have a 48# @ 27" (my draw length) recurve that loves 1916's. The arrows are 28.5" in length with 150 grains of weight up front. They fly great.
How much weight up front?
I'd say you can tune 1916s to that bow easy enough with the right weight broadhead
I'm thinking 150 grains up front. I have just about every size field point so I think Ill be able to figure something out.
