They are awesome I have a 58" PSA autumn oak 54@27 it shoots a 580gr arrow around 185 fps, it is awesome. My friend shot mine and was a big fan of some other well known bowyers and has sold those bows and now has a Widow. He told me he wish he would of shot one soooner it sure would of saved him a lot of money buying bows. Black Widows are silky smooth and pretty darn quick and they look cool. You wont go wrong with a WIDOw they are great bows!!!!!

The Black Widow bow is a mighty fine piece of hunting equipment. Also Black Widow Custom Bow Company consists of good quality individuals that will build you a bow just the way you want it in a reasonable amount of time and continue to assist you any way they can.
Not to mention the bow is amazingly smooth and powerful to shoot. It is just a really cool bow.

You're thinking about buying ONE? Most guys want two, three, .... four!
I shoot a PMA II, 64". Black Widow makes great bows. They've been at the top of traditional archery for a long time, their customer service is great, and they have a 'try before you buy' program that you should consider.
-
I hope someone will mention the preformance of the Widow PTF one-piece recurve models as well.
-
I got a PSAX,a PLX and a TFV--all great shooting Widows.I'm particularly fond of the TFV.It took me awhile to take a shine to it,but it's my favorite bow of the bunch. Now if I can find the right PSR
-
Rooselk, my dad just send back a PTF Ironwood after he did the test- drive program. He really liked the bow and has one on order. The bow was 46# @28" and he draws 30" so it was about 52# at his draw, and it shot a 542gr. 2018 at 176 fps. that's pretty good for a 52# bow!

I bought a Morrison Td, then a Black Widow PMA III,62" 60lb at 28", just sold the Black Widow.. The quality was great and it shot great , just did not like the added weight of the riser ,, I gotta try one of those TF or PTFs soon.

If I didn't shoot the DAS bows I would shoot a Widow.I would get a used one.I've seen used Widows sell for $300 up to $800 with $600 being very common.Yea I nearly bought the $300 Widow, I just didn't need another bow.
-
glenn, i sent another pm. did you get it?
-
Mojo2004 no!
-
I have 5... they have never let me down.
-
I own two 60" TFV Ironwood Widows. Both made in 2002 and still going strong. Love a one piece bow for its' looks and simplicity.

Hey Jim, You mean that beautiful PSAX I sold you isn't your favorite???? Love my PLX and wouldn't trade it for the world!

You just can't go wrong with a black widow. They are great and the folks at black widow are great.

I have a 62" take-down exotic longbow and may be ordering a takedown Ironwood recurve by this weeks end after seeing the one my shooting buddy just got.
-
I've got a PLGA. It's my first trad bow so I've got nothing to compare it to but I love it.
Customer service is 2nd to none.
-
Can't go wrong. Absolutely love mine.
-
I have two older Widows, a SAG 58" 51#@30 and a LAO 62" 53#@29, both made in 99. I just love them, I have owned and tried many bows but most I have later sold, I would never part with the Widows.
A very good friend has the PTF II Greybark prototype and it is simply stunning to look at.

I guess I am part of the club too! I have three, listed in the signature of this post. I placed my other seven bows, all great brands on ****.
My girlfriend now calls me a "BOW SNOB", funny, she won't shoot anything but her Black Rhino Longbows, I guess I am a Black Widow Bow Snob, and she is a Black Rhino Bow Snob. Either way, I am in good company.....

I too am in the club---I use a
Black Widow PMAV Ironwood 43@26--58 inch
Black Widow PMAV Ironwood 55@26--58 inch
Black Widow Pma111 Autumn Oak 53@26 60 inch and an extra set of limbs Autumn Oak 48@26 60 inch.My wife hopes this is it for bows ---but I do have others.------Elf.

BW makes a good bow, they have a reputation for great customer service, and have been around for a long time. Chances are you'll be happy with one.
I have to chime in on the "can't go wrong with a BW bow" comments though. You can "go wrong" with ANY bow--if you don't like it, if it doesn't fit you, whatever. Don't take my word for it, just look at the number of bows (BW and others) for sale--something wasn't right somewhere, at least for some folks.
IMO, it's a lot harder to "go wrong" with a used BW--keep it in good shape, if you don't care for it you can generally get what you paid back out of it, or close--maybe more in some cases. Down side is you loose the warranty with most bows, including a BW.
If nothing else, take advantage of their "try before you buy" program--having one in your hands is worth more than all the opinions on the 'net.
FWIW, I've owned two of them, and shot lots of others. Nice bows, just not the bow for me.

I love my 60" 52@28" PSA III. I have a couple of bows that I shoot good. But my Widow is the best shooting bow I have. Like others have said the bow has to fit you. And my Black Widow definatly does. And their customer service is top notch.

I bought my first widow in 1982, I thought they wer vastly overpriced, until I got it. I've bought four more since then and every time, I think the price is outrageous, until I get the bow and shoot it. I still have the first one and all the others and just can't seem to retire them permanently, or get rid of them. There are lots of great bows out there, but the widows are my go to bows. They also have great customer service. I would try to get to a show somewhere that they have a booth, they make quite a few different bows and options, so it could save you some time and money in the long run.
-
I own four of them. They are wonderful bows!

LBR, my "can't go wrong" comment was referring to if you bought a new widow and didn't care for it after 6 months that it could be sold for a couple hundred bucks less.
-
I bought my fith one in Jan of this year. I didn't know that the phenolic made them that much heavier, i think it does. I've bought 4 used ones since ATAR and have 3 friends that are now widow holics as well as my son, who gets his new sa11 in the mail tommorrow! I had it made with out the phenolic. You'll like'em i'm sure. I'm very confident with mine, on the course and in the woods....
