Has anyone had a chance to shoot the Yumi carbon shafts? I recently had a chance to handle one and it looked good in concept. The super narrow diameter screams penetration, and the outsert seemed well made and solid.
Where can you find them?
don't think i have seen these and i like me some skinny arras
3 Rivers carries them. I can't find any other info on them. I assume they must be a new product.
I handled one briefly at the 3 Rivers warehouse and it piqued my interest. Normally outserts aren't something I want to mess with, but these looked sturdy and I think would eliminate the need to foot the arrow. They also have nock collars- again more durability.
I may order a few to play with.
I haven't had any experience with them but have Easton Injexion and Victory VAP.They are as skinny as they are,Yumi id is .165 and Injexion and VAP are .166.With that small of a diameter you have to use an outsert or like Injexion uses a Deep Six HIT insert with smaller 6/40 Deep Six points. You can't use a standard 8/32 point without an outsert, they won't fit inside the shaft. They sound like the look cool with the finished look of a lacguer bamboo with the nodes for a skinny carbon.Similar to Axis Traditional over the black Axis..Easton Injexion and VAP have a black finish.I did on my Injexion 400 was to use the VAP insert/outsert so I could use heavier 5/16 points. Those skinny shafts seem to penetrate deeper on my targets.
