Alright guys.... I finally took the plunge!
Just ordered a black widow PLX. 64" 46@29", all black micarta riser, no red or white, just the bamboo accents. Woodland camo limb veneers, black nose and limb tips and black limb base caps, no engravings.
This thing is gonna be sweet!!! There were two details I was not sure of, length and grip. I have access to a 64" PL with standard grip, so I did the test drive on a 66" Toby grip. Should arrive today.
I'll finalize the details after my time with the demo bow.
So excited, July is a long way away!!!
So to tide me over, let's hear from you PL shooters, and let's see some pictures and hero pics with your PLs!!!
Can't wait...
tick--tock, the waiting begins. You love the bow.
I have One with the Toby grip and like it a lot better than the standard grip. I think you will really like the PLX.

Ranger 3 what are the woods in your bow?
Alright, spent about an hour with the test drive bow last night. I definitely prefer the standard grip over the Toby grip.
I think I've settled on 64" too. The test drive bow is about 5# heavier than my bow to be built, so I think 64" will do the trick.
I'd really like to customize the grip a bit by having them add a flat shelf along the spine of the grip on the shooter side. Kind of mimicking shooting a metal riser without a grip.
We will see. I'm excited to get the demo bow out to our club this week for more testing.
I might enjoy this longbow thing...
jt85 it is Spalted Maple and Bocoto
Here's a picture of my favorite PLX. This bow is a Olive Ash T/D. This picture happens to be taken by my favorite stand (see my stand? good). Oh the quiver is one of Bud's St Jude Quivers and guess what, it's my favorite quiver. This quiver does not look new any more, but I guess that's a good thing. This combination has been very good to my family's freezer.

July? Like six weeks from now July???
I'm sorry my friend, but you will elicit no sympathy from me on that one. One year, 3 days and counting for my pending arrival.
I'm sure you will be much elated with your new addition when it arrives. Did you get the beavertail grip?
Actually, after using the test drive bow, I will be opting out of the beaver tail grip. Very excited!!!
wanting to buy one but hoping to find a good used one left handed.
Sounds like it's going to be an ice one. Post pics when you get it.
Sounds nice! I ordered PLII on 5/5 is it July already?
Sounds like it's going to be a nice one! I love my PLX takedown!

I looked for 3-4 months for a lefty in my specs and finally gave up and bought a new PLV TD
I really like pl's ive had 3 or 4 and have settled on the standard grip with beaver tail and 64" take down
I just got one on a trade 44#@27" crossgrain grey bark with rattler skins on the face 62". alittle heavy for me but a good shooter.
I have a PLX I got in a trade......nice bow, mine has the Toby grip. It's a bit large for me but I can live with it.
