With a lull in the rain this afternoon, I was able to take my new to me Berry Taipan to the backyard targets and give it a try. The design, fit and finish are excellent. 60" and 47 lb at my 26", it should be a pretty good fit. The forward handle and belly mounted lams make it feel very stable in the draw and shot and it is very quick. Best of all it shoots really well. This is my first J.D. Berry and I'm impressed. Here are my first four arrows; about 12 yards. Thanks Steve!

They are sweet shooting bows,I love shooting my Taipan.I like a reverse handle bow,I feel it helps accuracy and harder to torque.JD Berry makes some nice bows and good looking bows.Had a Yaweh a few years back, multiple woods and just a beautiful bow!
Another Berry fan. Looks as if you'll be hooked for life. Congratulations on the fine bow.
I believe that bow should work well for you. Congrats!
Yup that's one dead deer brother congrats
Nice shootin' with a great good looking bow, had a Taipan built and like an idiot sold it :knothead: now back on build list for an OE model.
The taipan is my hands down favorite bow of all times.
My 94 model is my go to for everything from tournaments to hunting.
I have a newer , longer one also that is a dream to shoot.
Enjoy
Great shootin...and congrats on the new bow!
Congrats on your Taipan. This is one of those bows with a HUGE following. Shoot well.
Thanks guys! The forward riser design always made sense to me and I'd been waiting on a Taipan to show up in the classifieds for quite a while. I sold another bow to get the funds and will be shooting this one a lot more than the one I sold. I need to be thinning down my herd, but I think I'll be keeping this one for a while. Now I just need to find the right Robertson.
I had one but brianlocal3 has it on an extended borrowing plan :biglaugh:
I forgot to delete my account after that
nice bow and nice shooting , would love to try on some day.
My Taipan is my favorite James Berry bow - right next to my Serpentine. Of course mine has Bamboo cores so it is a little better then Brian's :)
