Well, folks, I put out 5 cameras to see what we got left. I have found half a rack from 2 bucks, one on each farm that I think any bowhunter would be tickled with.
Before I took the cams down in January I was getting a LOT of yote and cat pics.
We have lots of turkeys this year, or did before season, I think the turkey's version of season started about 2 weeks before MDC's ;)
I called in 3 gobblers this morning and heard another before the wind got too strong to suit me.
Had a minor flaw in my setup according to the turkeys..... :D
I put a cam in a new spot this time where there are large tracks both directions, can't wait to see who shows up there!!
Good luck on the thunder Chickens...
Cats and yotes and turkey's don't all go well together do they? :scared:
Looking forward to some pics!
Do I need to bring the hounds and thin out some bobcats with you buddy
I'll come over and help skin, flesh and stretch them for you guys as fast as you can catch them! :bigsmyl:
Maybe I can thin a few coyotes out to when you're not looking.

Tracy
Good stuff Kenny!
Perhaps you can ask the turkeys what you did wrong?
Randy, the problem here is small land parcels averaging a couple hundred acres. The guy next door may have a hemmorage if you get on him. Calling is better option, worked on that a couple times last winter.
Tracy, that is a wall of fur buddy!!
Charlie, they have told me many times, I just didn't listen.... :D
Yea hemrage is bad. Ha ha.
Would be fun to call one in.
I love calling anything. Yotes with a longbow would be awesome.
I mean set up on the ground and specifically calling yotes. Not like I've done while deer hunting in a treestand and sqeeked em in....But I liked that too!
I took something with more reach last winter, didn't wanna educate too many.
That Tracy fellow sure knows how to take the hair off a critter :scared:
Take them any way you can Kenny and be happy about it!

You will never hurt there population just keep them thinned down maybe, and if you don't this is what you will get!

Thanks Yellow Dog :D
Tracy
I say kill all the coyotes!! I killed a nice doe on the north farm last year at 8:00 in the a.m. Trailed her up at 10:00 just to find her half eaten up by coyotes. Never saw a thing. She only ran about 120 yards.
Tracy I shot one with a longbow about 10 years ago just like that last pic, but had blackish leathery hide all over except the 4" wide strip of hair down the back. Probably a big favor as it was getting real cold.
It was really windy the day David shot the doe as I recall. I told him he might have been scared if he could hear the yotes eating that deer, they put away a lot of venison in short order. :scared:
They can sure get ugly Kenny and it's amazing how tuff they are running around in the dead of winter with hardly any fur. I like mine much better with a nice fur coat!!! :bigsmyl:
The fifth one from the left is the one that Curt shot at your place why we were there.

Congrats on taking one with your longbow Kenny!
Tracy
You've got some big dogs there Tracy! I've taken 4 with longbow, 1 with a com bow , and 0 with a recurve. So far I've only missed 1 yote with a bow, how the heck do I miss deer?? LOL
Got a few pics, 2300+ on one camera at 3 shot per event... :)

2nd pic above yote, think this ol boy has a shoulder injury. He stands funny.
Cool pictures as usual Kenny!
Here we go with the teasers!!!
November won't get here quick enough. Keep them comin Kenny.
Thanks, Kenny. I was trying to recognize the locations of the camera sets. Day after Christmas Jacob and I will be headed your way. Chad
Chad, I've hunted that slot before. You will see a ton of deer. May be pretty cold but seeing all the deer makes up for it. Was one of my favorite Kenny lease hunts.
Chad, that cam with the most piocs is in the new crossing on N place. The last 2 are in the cedar patch by road on S place. Gonna put a stand down in there somewhere this year, had it on the double cedar last year, didn't thnk the wind did any favors on the edge so going deeper this time.
there's a big oak to the left of that deer in the next to last pic. Nice clearing in there.....
Kenny, I think the big oak is further down the hill from the double cedar? If so, I have seen several deer there. Bet it will be a good spot.
Yes, and north maybe a hundred yards on the ditch edge, maybe in that far the wind won't be so fickle. And it is a nice clearing there under it about 20 yards across... :)
What are those deer feeding on? I have never seen that kind of stuff growing in woods round here.
Weeds and forbs, nothing planted there....
Have some antler growth and the same ol songdog!

Okay Kenny, I know I'm getting old and my sight ain't what it used to be, but even with reading glasses I can't figure out picture #6 in the first set on this page???!
What sorta critters you got on that place?
That is an old doe practicing her bow hunter pickoff skills! Hadda throw that one in. Very different pose! LOL
Thanks for sharing! It reminds me I need to get mine up and running.
I know I'm an addict, because I'm not even through turkey season yet, but I already have deer fever!
I looked closely at that one also. Looks like an alien deer.
Me too Coach. The last 2 weeks, while in the woods, I was chasing turkeys and thinking deer.

By the way, I saw the lamination listing on St. Judes. Very cool buddy. Somebody is going to get some great bow lams.
Love the bobcat pics.
Hey Mr. Lamb! You forgot your flower seed when you left!
That camera is on the East edge of rock crossing on N farm, facing N across the roadway...
There are not much for trees there but a great ground blind where you can shoot the E field, crossing , and a N/S trail West of ya.
The kitty is in the gap where you took that great pic of the momma kitty...
I cranked out those bocotes right after you left!!
We were almost home when Nick remembered the flowers. I was miffed. Really wanted them.
That camera location is a good one. I've seen very consistent movement there in the past.
