As many of you already know I have a major weakness for Bill Dunn's bows. They have always just seemed to fit me the best. Awhile back I got a chance to shoot Bill's latest creation at Zipper, the Z4 limbs. They are a double carbon limb with foam cores. Talk about a silky smooth drawing limb. Only gaining 2 pounds an inch of draw. It almost feels as though the limbs have a let off built into them. They just come back so nice. And man are they fast !!! Just like all of Bill Dunn's bows, they are a tackdriver. So that's the combo that we went with. Specs are 60" 52@28"

Bill, this is for sure a killer combo! I talked with Bill Dune last month about those Z4 limbs and guess what I have a set on order! But I am thinking to have a whole bow made. Keep us posted about that bow on use.

I agree 100%!! Bill was generous enough to send me a set to try a few weeks ago. They were only #37, and shot the same arrows as my #45 classic limbs nearly as fast. I took many pictures in comparison so my Evo and Classic limbs and had planned on writing a review, but my phone took a dunk in the lake.
The z4 design loads incredibly smooth and just like stated above, almost feels like it has a slight let off towards the end of the draw. It really allowed Me to settle into my anchor point comfortably and more consistently.
Bill has hit a home run here and after ten shots I immediatemy emailed him and sent a deposit to get in line for a set of my own.

Great looking Zipper!
I still need to give one a try..

I don't see these limbs on the wed site yet. Are they that new? Will this design be only in the recurve limbs or utilized in the long bow limbs as well? Any one hear any whispers? :)

The Z4 is a completely new recurve limb from the Zipper shop. I know the prototypes started getting shot right around the 1st of the year.

That is truly unique, although lately I have been shooting ILF and metal risers. Could you please compare it with the Centaur Triple carbon? (yes, I know one is a recurve and the other one is a longbow..) . If you could put them through the chrony that would be even better..
-
Great looking bow Bill, I'm jealous.
-
If Bill is listening? How is this new design built w/ wood and glass, instead of the carbon?
enjoy that new bow

Stephen, The Z4 can not be built with just glass and boo. The glass and boo would not be able to stabilize this design. There is too much preload and too much curve in the tip. It has to have this type of carbon in the limb. With this particular carbon on the back and belly of the Z4 limb it makes this design the most stable of all of our recurve limb designs.

Good looking Bow!

Thanks Bill,
And thanks for building the riser for me. I know it was a bit out of your comfort to do but I'm very pleased and it's become my favorite. I still plan to send it back for a set of wimpy 50/55lbs limbs to match.
Say hello to Tracy.
