Title: low spine wood?
Post by: styksnstryngs on April 28, 2015, 04:22:00 PM
I shoot a 20# bow, and I've been trying to find low enough spined arrows for it. I'm shooting German cedar 30-35, but they are full length and not very convenient. Any alternative arrows that are a lower spine?

Check out Hildebrand Arrow Shafts in Washington state. They've got low spine shafts in great quality. I worked with some 9/32 for a customer and was very pleased with them.

x2 on Hildebrands. I just got some test shafts - 3ea 25-29 and 3ea 30-34. Looks as though the 25-29 spine are going to work great out of my 31# Mohawk with 125 gr points, but the 30-34 fly well too if left full length and with 150gr.

I looked on their web site and they go all the way down to 10-15 spine. The ones I received were all within 2 gr in their spine group and, to steal a phrase, straight as an arrow. Great people to work with.
