I need help. I am terrible w arrow selection.
I just recently received a rose oak bow I won.
specs.. 48 lbs at 28", I draw 29.75"
I used the dynamic spine calc. I came up with 2216s cut to 31". I bought 2. They seem to fly decent, but I am getting side plate wear. Are these too stiff? Or may I have some other problem?
Any help would be great.

I would try a 2016 or 2018.
I have some 2018s laying around. I just tried shooting them. Bareshaft, they fly sideways.
See.. I have monkey arms, and that is why i struggle so much with arrow selection.
When i used the arrow calculator, it says that my bow dynamic spine is around 70 at my draw length. 2018 arrows spine out at 52.9. so, if this tool is accurate, it makes sense to me that they dont fly well. Now, the 2216s spine out at 70.3. So, they should fly perfect..

Remember, 2216's are also wider than the others and that changes center shot.

So, what is the solution for that extra width? Is it just not a good choice?
The calculator for me is generally stiff. I have had the calculator say the bow needs a 60# arrow...knowing the bow was a 49lb bow, I went with a .500 spined and wanted to shoot a 200 grain tip. I bareshaft tuned and cut my arrows back until I got perfect flight. The arrows spined out at what the calculator said was 41lbs. The personal form factor can be adjusted to see if you shoot an inherently stiff or weak arrow. I find my arrows are usually weaker than what the calculator suggests. I quit using that calculator to be honest.
Would a 2117 be in between the 2018 and 2216? Someone should have a few 2117 laying around that you could try. I have but they are shorter than what you are shooting. Have you tried a little heavier practice tips to see if they would help your 2216s fly good without hitting on your side plate? That could possibly be an option. Good luck!
Is the brace height adjusted correctly? If it's too low, it can cause the back of the shaft to contact the shelf as it passes. Likewise, a nock point that's too low can cause the arrow to bounce off the shelf, and also wear on the shelf.
Could play around with point weight a little, i.e., go up in 25 grain increments, to see what effect it has on your arrow flight.
Of course, your shooting form could also be the cause of poor arrow flight. Try to find an experienced shooter to offer some coaching.
Actually a 2018 spines out at 69# on the 26 inch measurement of the old tried and true spine testers. A 2016 spines out at 60#; a 2117 at about 80‹.
