Just curious if anyone here has or has built a Ascham cabinet for their gear?
I had to "Google Ascham" cabinet before I could answer.
No. :D
Nice idea, but I personally prefer racks that show the bow. If I had anything like that, I'd have hooks to hang the bows, so they weren't leaning like the picture I saw.
A guy on PA posted a bow rack he built recently that was kind of a open face Ashram. Bows hanging on pegs with a place for arrows on the floor beneath, all one unit. Looked good in his home and his wife liked it. :D
I took an 80 inch +- ikea cabinet and modified it to fit my bows and some gear, will hold 6 to 8 bows hung from dowels. Took a hanging rod that fit the cabinet hung high. Drilled holes in rod, pushed lag bolts through holes. Holes in dowels. Attached to lag bolts, a hanging down T. Hang bows on the T. Couple of other hooks inside hold cases, quivers, gear. Boots, arrows other gear in the bottom. Second cabinet right next to it has shelves. Lot of gear storage. Side by side with door closed fits nicely in space. Gear out of sight but always at hand.
No, but wish I had the space. I would make it like mentioned above, no doors. If I felt real good I might do glass doors.
Thanks for the replies gentlemen.... Was curious
I have one it was made by a KBA member and auctioned off at our banquet. it is made of walnut and he copied it off the one Dick Robertson had in Traditional Bowhunter magazine years ago .
I've thought of making one with a carousel wheel with pegs, but it is way down the list! LOL
Kenny, I've had the same idea in my head for years... an Ascham with a lazy suzan of sorts, glass door and sides, light, maybe arrow racks on the sides that slide out... just ain't got a roundtoit. Like you said, too many things keep moving above it on the priority list.
