As the title says, how have yall gone about modifying a split tab to three under?
I ask because I have two AWSOME saunders tabs but have gone back to three under and shooting these split tabs is getting my ring finger hit.
I have a Saunders three under tab comming so it will be solved but I'd love to figure out how to utilize my two exsisting tabs for backups.
I appreciate all help and suggestions

Duct tape! :D
Pat,
I thought about it
Why would you have to fix anything just use them as is it should not make a difference.
I was thinking the same as Whittler.....
I have used Can'tPinch tabs for years... I just take out the rubber finger spacer!!!
I have always shot split fingered tabs three under. No issues for me.
My issue is that the middle finger winds up over the split slot, so it's string against bare finger, it's getting tore up.
No issue shooting split only 3 under. I was hoping I wouldn't have an issue but I do
I shoot a split finger kantpinch 3 under, no problems at all!
For back ups duct tape sounds good.
Between duct tape and WD40 your good to go for most things. :bigsmyl:
Flip Flop.
I don't want to hear it Flap Jack!!!!!
And don't forget bailing/mechanics wire, those three items build rocket ships
I might try using it as a pattern to cut a new tab - just leave out the split.
My work boots have finally given up the ghost so I may do that
I have a couple of friends that used the split finger Pak-Tab and shoot three under. What they did was just make a solid leather piece to back the brown piece with the finger loop.

Thanks Bisch. I'll try That and remove one of my layers to keep the same feel
Basically remove the spacer and lay down the leather to close the gap. It will depend on what make of tab as to how well this will work.
I have good luck with the Saunders Fab Tab I just removed the finger separator and shoot. I fortunately haven't had any issues with the split in the tab.
Not a mod like you asked for but I used to buy lefty tabs and shoot them upside down.
It works quite well.
Now I make my own.

Carefully cut down the split, an inch or so, remove a little leather from the sides so the wedge is cut out, and stitch it up to the point where it contacts the string. You now have a super flexible tab. You might be able to trim a little off the top and bottom for a more exact fit
