My brother in-law has not shot his bow sends last August , he came over to our house with his bow to shoot .
He had not seen the longbow that I got last October and wanted to try it .
Well he was tired out from shooting his 45# recurve and was ready to try my Dwyer Dauntless longbow . It's 55# draw and I was a little concerned if he could handle it seeings he has a disability .
First arrow missed the bottle cap to the right by about an inch , the second arrow slammed the first arrow . The third arrow slapped the first two .
I didn't realize that my bow was defective .
He pulled the three arrows and proceeded to put the next arrow in the same spot .
I informed him that it's not proper etiquette to out shoot his brother in-law with his own bow .
I will add that this was at 20 yards and I had mentioned that he should shoot up close but he said he wanted to try it from 20 yards .
My wife has still not stopped laughing about it . (http://s982.photobucket.com/user/bruinbow/media/IMG_20150414_1410566630101_zpsoyg7u4iz.jpg.html)
My X brother in law did the very same thing to me, I did say X, my sister ran him off.

Maybe you just had the sights set just right for him Graps!
Da man just ain't got no couth!
I don't see where you have any choice but to divorce your wife and cut all ties with her family. :D
I have an ex brother in law that did the same thing to me shooting clay birds. He didn't hunt much, and rarely shot a gun at a target of any kind. The first time he shot with me, I told him not to let it bother him if he didn't do too well, after all, these things take practice to master. He broke 23 out of 25 his first time, and 24 - 25 over and over again after that. He couldn't hit a live bird to save his life, but he sure broke the clays. And no, that's not why my ex and I got divorced lol.
Just tell yourself that he had a good day, and you were off that day, and don't shoot with him again. ;)
Bob
Sorry, double post.
This happens for the same reason some young folks shoot very well , they just don't know that they aren't supposed to. He will learn someday but for now don't tell him and he will have fun shooting your bow. Drew
I'm gonna tell my Bro-in-law to keep his hands off my bow! Nice Dwyer.
Same reason I will not see one of my recurves. Then when he was having a little left/right issue I showed him 3 fingers under. Now he wants to try one of my Bear TD. Had to draw the line on that one.
Time for a new bow you can shoot better than him. Taht aught to get your wife to stop laughing.
I don't think he has a dis-ability.... That boy has some serious ABILITY!!
The noive of some people!!!! :smileystooges:
Graps, you should tell him, so grasshopper you have listened well :-)
It's new bow syndrome.....seriously. Almost always I pick up a new bow and shoot lights out with it.....but then the REAL me comes out a couple dozen arrows later. :knothead:
Possum, you know what Tommy always says about warm up shots  Looks like Graps soon to be X Brother in Law does the same lol!
