Title: Stolen Bows
Post by: Blackhawk on April 17, 2015, 10:02:00 AM
Jay St. Charles had 4 bows stolen from his shop in Western WA on or about April 15.  Stolen were:

1. an original '59 Bear Kodiak, 46# with Fred Bear signature

2. a new stock 60# Pacific Yew Classic Longbow

3. a Kramer Longbow named "Modine" with Lyle Kier's name on it

4. an Osage Bow Jay had made for his uncle Mal.

Obviously, Jay would appreciate any help in the recovery of these bows.

Every collector is a friend of Jay and the St. Charles family.

The thief will find it hard to move any of these bows without being caught.

I resort to my standard response, "Damn a thief!"
I have no sympathy or good feelings towards THOSE WHO STEAL. I hope they are caught and that the bows are returned.

I hope Jay has filed a police report and has some pictures of the bows and watches the various classifieds.

That's a shame, I'm sorry to hear it. As long as there are people, there will be people like that. I hope Mr. St. Charles gets his bows back, and whoever stole them gets what they deserve too.

Let's keep this one to the top, so the word gets out there.

Doesn't sound like a random crime, but more specific... a thief who knows archery and the value of said bows, perhaps someone who had been there recently? Sadly, odds are they will get sold cheap for drug money.

Check those Craigslist and auction sites, and let's help Jay get back his bows.

I went into an All Craigslist Search site, and typed in Kramer Longbow.
It showed a hit in Seattle     - but that ended up being the ad warning of the bows that were stolen.
People in the area should definitely keep an eye on local pawnshops.

Boy is that really sad.  The thief, I bet doesn't even know how special those bows are.
