After reading some of the reviews on a Kwyk Styk, I knew I had to at least try one out. Well a kwyk search on google revealed there aren't many going up on the classifieds of any site, which validated even more my desire to get one and try it out!
Well after a year or so search, I finally found one to purchase(leather wall). I contacted the seller, exchanged a few texts, and BOOM, it is headed towards me today.
Here are a few pictures of the bow. I do not believe it is the most beautiful bow in the woods, but i don't think the animals will mind. I am hoping this will be my "go-to" bow from here on out.
A 58" #51@27 (I draw to 29 Kwyk Styk) As stated above, this is my first bow purchase and I am excited to say the least!

If anyone knows the bow woods, feel free to enlighten me. I would love to know.
Nice bow...and I bet you will like how they shoot.
I would guess cocobolo for the wood.
Better looking than you are letting on!!!
I really like mine as well and would love to see some more pics of them posted. (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)

It sure looks fine to me. Good luck with it and enjoy it.
Looks good to me  hope you enjoy it.
Awesome bow for a first time purchase ! Sweet shooter and as photo indicates Sweet looking too! Well done .
Looks like Cocobolo riser and wedges, antler thumb ledge, limbs could be red elm stained to match the riser, static limb tips. You got a good deal on this bow as the previous owner takes great care of all his bows. He turned into a longbow shooter.
AD Trad lites(35/55) cut 30.5" with 250 grains up front should fly great from this bow along with tapered Doug Fir spined 60/65.
Joe,
any thank you for the reply.
You got a nice one!!!!!!!
What a great choice. Enjoy!!
Hey Joe. You make it sound like I committed a sin. HaHa! I still have the Blacktail and the Border so I haven't completely lost my mind. You gotta make it to Whittingham. Won't be the same without you.
Looks like a shooter!
Congrats!
Congrats on the new bow. I'm sure you'll enjoy shooting as mine shoots awesome. Jack makes excellent bows!
Great condition, hope it serves you well. Looks like patience paid off. Second hand is a great way to go most of the time.
I had a pretty serious look at that one but I finally got mine a few months ago...when one lives near Jack and shoots with him sometimes it is pretty much mandatory to own one of his bows...amazing gentleman still building bows at 83 years young
DDave
"Lives near him and shoots with him...." Stop rubbing it in Dave.... :nono:
Very nice Bow
You will like!
LOL
Love my Kwyk Styk. Just freakishly smooth and quiet for a recurve.
Good choice!
Ken
According to tracking, the bow is coming in today! Today is going to be the longest day of work..EVER!!!
That's a beautiful bow! Very nice wood in that riser. I think you'll like it a lot!
Bernie
Soooooooooo, if this is your first bow purchase, did you steal the other ones? :scared: :scared: :scared:
Just kidding!
Nice stick.
Bisch
Bisch,
basically. I built my first bow from a bingham kit and then I did purchase a hoyt dorado(2nd hand) and then a guy traded me it for a Black Widow.
No, I did not check the mental state of the trader, but I honestly did not care. lol.
very nice, congrats!
Joe you may have missed the post a while ago by this guy that lives about 3 hills over from me noting that he has a nice round dozen Kwyk Styks...he takes Jack hunting and has known him forever it seems...and he has a mean streak too...I asked him once if he would sell me one of his Kempf bows and he replied that he only has 16 so no...now that is rubbing it in...and you know you are welcome to come and shoot and hunt with us any time
DDave
who would have guessed that USPS did not bring the bow to the house yesterday?
Nothing new on shipping confirmation since the 17th, when it was in NJ.
Daniel... now you know why patience is a virtue! Tough not going nuts isn't it?
Look forward to your thoughts once you get it set up and shooting.
Good luck.
Wayne
Congratulations! Have fun and happy hunting!
Dave..taking you up on that offer. I've been wanting to bowhunt Mulies or whitetails up there. It would be a great opportunity to visit Jack again and shoot some bows. I'm retiring next year and if all works out, could head up there next fall.
didnt come again.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
How was the bow sent...USPS or UPS? I always mailed out bows to customers USPS Priority Mail. Was there in one week. I know your excitement....it's like Xmas.
Joe, it was sent USPS priority insured. No fault of the sender.
I don't know whats going on with USPS lately but they have been late on several of my packages lately. One of them imparticular had a 12 day lay over, literally.
well, The bow came in yesterday.. man it is beautiful. Highlow's camera must suck! :)

followed by 50 more rounds of 3, but y'all don't want to see all that...
Congrats Daniel on a great bow purchase.
That grip style is my favorite on the Kwyk Styks.
I have one that is similar, I think its cocobola.
You should like that bow.
Terry
Daniel... what did I tell you? Start out a little to the right. Real nice bow!
 :archer2:
