Who is doing this type work?
Bow Hospital or the bowyer who made it
Bow hospital web site does not work. Still in business??
How many pounds are you looking to take off. Their are several ways that are pretty easy as a DIY project.
Got a decent deal offered on some Black Widow limbs. I would need to reduce 5-7#. They would need to be refinished as well. Was thinking of re-finishing my original BW anyway. Actually- if I knew how, I would be open to trying DIY.
I can not get Bowhospital's web to work either but he is still in business I talked to John a couple weeks ago about a project he is working on for me.
5-7# is a lot off of recurve limbs, not so hard to do with longbow limbs! I would contact BW, and see what they say.

Black widow could tell by serial number what is possible from what I understand.
Hey guys, I'm still here. My web guys server is down but hopes to have it back up today. Dan give me a call (586)247-0685 and I'll get back with you this evening. Thanks, John
I would send them back to Black Widow.....plus they can look up the serial number and most likely tell you if 5-7#'s is possible.
I had a Widow TF that I had ordered at 57# but it came in at 59#. Two years later, I contacted BW for reduction, but they stated serial# showed NO more could be removed. I had just figured #'s could be removed from any bow, but :dunno:
Lon, if they had to reduce during final tillering due to it coming in too heavy to begin with, they wouldn't be able to reduce any more for fear of losing structural integrity.
I think it's a very wise thing they do, in keeping strict records for that very reason.
Thanks all.
