They no longer come in a 2 PC. Dan only made four of them and I was luck enough to get one of them.

Nine,
I used to own a one piece D and it was my go-to-bow. Well as so many times is the case, I sold it and regretted it. This is my attempt to atone for my mistake.

Beautiful bow, LF1.
That's funny, I was at Dan's shop last Thursday picking up my new Chinook 2 pc takedown and I asked him if he made his Super D as a takedown and he said he had built a few (obviously, your's is one), but no longer does. I believe he feels he has to change the grip a little to accept the bow bolt, but prefers to keep the grip as it is on the one-piece.
Have fun with it!!

Ron,
Dan is such a perfectionist (in a good way) that he stopped making them because there is a slight, and by slight, I mean very slight, gap between the two handle pieces when braced. He tried to correct it, but couldn't. He said this slight gap doesn't affect the bows performance and it's rock solid. He had a used bow left, so I purchased it.

That's right. I remember him mentioning that. I knew it had something to do with the hendle and that it was extremely minor, but like you stated, not up to Dan's exacting standards.
So far, I really, really like the Chinook and the bow bolt takedown system.
Enjoy!! :archer2:

That's a sweet one for sure. Definately on my list of "must have"!! Good luck with it...!
-
Thanks, Matty. Ron, that bow bolt system is rock solid! Glad you're enjoying your Chinook.
-
Sweet, love a bow bolt.
-
Dennis, that is awesome!

Thanks, Izzy and Roman!

I just came off vacation and had not shot for a couple of weeks until I took my Super D out this afternoon. As always when I haven't shot it for awhile, it struck me just how well-mannered and ridiculously quiet it is. The one you just got is a beauty Dennis, congrats.

Thanks,Jim! They're quiet indeed and accurate!
