I had to work, but my oldest son Cade went out and did something about the all teaser turkeys running around.
Long story short, leafy suit, an irrigation ditch for a long natural ground blind, some soft calling to keep the flock close.
A longbow he helped build with a friend of mine, doug firs arrows he put together. A 22 yard shot, 5 yard follow up.
And a PUNCHED turkey tag.

It doesn't get any better than that, Congrats Pa and Cade.

Quite an accomplishment! You should both be very proud!
Wonderful. Congrats Cade!!!
Youngest son got it done this morning. He mmmmmissed a shot last night, but made good on this fine Easter morning.
This one was out out of a blind with a full decoy spread. Sarrel's Blueridge SR from the St. Judes auction a couple years ago with Easton Traditional shafts.

Wow that's great you guys are just crushing them congrats
That's just excellent.... Proud Papa & happy boys...good stuff right there. Congrats! :clapper:
 nice job!
Congrats to your youngest too! Another fine job. When I was his age, the biggest thing I was hunting was rabbits. We didn't have turkeys around here then, but I wouldn't have had a clue how to go about it at that age if we did. Congrats again, and give him a pat on the back for me too.
My biggest goal in life right now is to live long enough to pass along to my grandsons what I know about hunting, and to get them started on the right foot. They both love shooting traditional bows and tell me they want to hunt. Mom and Dad brought them over this morning to get their Easter baskets, and they were more excited to tell me about the turkeys they saw on the way, than what they were getting.
Bob
Thats great your son is in this with you. Its better than shooting one your self. Good job both of you.
Well done by both !
That's awesome, congrats to both boys and a super dad!!
Congrats to both boys!!!
Great picture and great job! Y'all are tearing them up!
Outstanding! Congrats to all. Don't worry, dad, your turn is coming.
Thanks for all the kind replies. As any parent, I would much prefer them to succeed, than myself.
That is outstanding! Congratulations on your boys' accomplishments!
Good work!
Just flat out impressive. Congrats.
Congrats on some fine birds!
Congrats to your son on a fine hunt and to you on a good job of mentoring!
Tremendous job on tough trophies!!

Great accomplishments.
Impressive! Most kids that age cant get it done with a scattergun, much less a stickbow!!
Congrats, they are some beautiful turkeys. Hope to get out to hunt them some day.
WOW! Good Stuff Indeed ...CONGRATS!!!
You've got yourself a couple of predators there! Took me years to down my first trad bird!
Wow, is that exciting stuff or what! Congratulations to both boys on their spectacular hunts! :clapper:
That's a great picture also!

Tried to go 3/3 on Monday with a friend that started traditional archery a year ago. But the streak came to an end.
Time to roll up the sleeves and get to work chasing them hardcore...which is par for the course.
Really have to enjoy it when the stars align and it "seems" easy. As we all know, those opportunities are few and far between on this traditional journey.
Congrats on a very big accomplishment!!
Man, you guys know how to get er done! Congrats all the way around! :clapper: :clapper:
