Thinking of elk season already! 2014 was one of the best years ever. Didn't bring home any meat but had an amazing hunt with my son. Not sure how to post multiple pic's so I will add a few posts with pic's from last year. Check out my son's elk arrow in a following post.
Gear on in Northern Colorado. This area holds some of my greatest memories. Arrowed a bull with my Assenheimer 8 years ago here with my 80 year old dad sitting right beside me. Now passing on that heritage with my son.

This is the result of my son's arrow hitting a big herd bulls shoulder. It was shot out of a 70lb compound, 550 grain arrow at 18 yards. Worked this bull for 2 hrs. and he finally got fed up and came in perfectly. Needless to say my son was a tad bit excited and shot a tad too far forward.

What do you do after something like that happens? You cry a little, then grin and get back to hunting. My son says after he kills his first elk he will hang up the training wheels and start hunting like his dad.
Love the pictures! Looks like a great time, great to see father and son bonding over archery and hunting!
Get that boy an Elk so he can take those training wheels off. LOL! Looks like good times.
Awesome pics, hope to have my boy hunting with me soon.
