Title: Plunger question
Post by: Submarinokotbw on March 28, 2015, 05:56:00 PM
I am wanting to go to the Cloverdale Traditional Nationals, i shoot with a plunger on my bow. I noticed that they require "no mechanical rests". Is the the plunger considered a mechanical rest?

Thanks!

I think as long as you are shooting off the shelf, and cannot adjust the plunger by hand during competition you are ok.... I believe a mechanical rest is one with moving parts like a flipper rest...

You would be wise to contact the host of the shoot for detailed regulation specs. My interpretation may not be the same.

Here is a Sasquatch ILF set up with the plunger located at shelf height. i use a fixed plunger bolt tipped with velcro, locked in place with a set screw.

I would contact them as well. What is legal at today's shoot may not be legal at the next shoot at another org. IMO a plunger is not a rest at all but that is MY opinion not that groups necessarily. Just think if you had a tricked out ILF rig!
