I just picked up a 64" Wing Gull from the classifieds. Can anyone tell me the age of the bow from the serial number and the following pictures? Thanks, Mike

My first bow other that a solid fiberglass one was a 35# Wing Gull. I think I got it used in the early 60's. I am also interested in dating them and mine has G-2734 serial number. I thought it would be ok to shoot fast flight on it because it was only 35# but on the second shot, the limb tip broke off. I have redone the tips so it is now a semi-recurve. They are really nice bows.
Early 1967 before Head Ski owned Wing.
The other appears to be a Head Ski but can't be sure without seeing the decal.
That bow is a shooter!

Thanks Kelly...I appreciate the info. The riser is a beautiful piece of wood. I may consider it for a trip to the Bow Hospital! Mike
I know it is rough. I bought it years ago in that condition.

I shot some 2216's with 200 up front and it was pretty loggy. When I dropped down to 2117's with 145, it cast them with a lot more zip. Nice mass to the bow and very comfortable at 64".
The limbs are very stable on that design. It is smooth on the draw. Riser does have a nice piece of wood. I believe that is Shedua in the riser.
