The shoot will be at Blackhawk Field Archers (BFA) in north west Winnebago Co. on March 28th and 29th. Here is a link to BFA's website http://www.blackhawkfieldarchers.com
If you're a Wisconsin resident, BFA Club is just into Illinois across the Wisconsin state line and almost directly south of Orfordville, WI.
Hit me up if you're interested in shooting together.
I might be interested Dennis depending on the weather. Less than an hour for me.
Sounds great, Pete!
Their webpage sure doesn't tell much. Do you know any more details about the shoot?
Camping available Saturday night?
How many targets?
Cost?
Thank You!
Blain,
There is a campground right next to the archery club. It's run by the Winnebago Co. Forest Preserve District. The name of the forest preserve is the Sugar River Forest Preserve. Here is the link. Not sure of the number of targets or cost. Usually the cost is around $10-$12 and there are about 30ish targets.
Here is a link for camping. http://winnebagoforest.org/preserves/sugar-river/
Looks good, thanks Dennis.
Just did a google maps scan of the area and you are correct, they are just down the street from one another.
Boy this sure would be a fun weekend to get out of the house and camp again!
Awesome, Blain! Let me know if you decide to come. We can shoot together. BFA have a kitchen and serve burgers, brats, chips coffee and soda.
It's a good location. Have shot there a lot over the years. They have a trad only shoot later in the summer, usually late July, mid-August.
In addition to standard ethafoam 3-D targets, club members place 10 or so large home made (novelty) 3-D targets out for one round of shooting during the trad shoot.
They also have/had a neat way of scoring. Don't know if they're still using it for the trad shoot, but the way they scored the last time I shot it, a hit in the vitals was 10 points, a miss was 0, and a body hit was minus 5. Have fun.
From their web site. Blackhawk has camping spaces available . Electrical outlets are $10.00 for the weekend to plug in given on a first come first serve basis.
Primitive Camping is free and plenty of room.
Great club, been shooting their club for over 50 years.
