I've been contemplating for quite a while now about buying one of Steve Turay's bows. I've seen them at most of the events I've been to and they look very nice. Does anyone here have one of his bows?
You won't find anyone here that has had a bad experience with Steve or his bows. He is a true gentleman to work with and for my dollar, he makes a fantastic Hill bow that I always enjoy shooting and hunting with.
I have shot a number of his bows and own a Shelton. It is a great bow! I consider it as good as any bow I have ever handled.
If your looking for the Holy Grail of D shaped longbows A Northern Mist might be the one. It was for me.
If you do a "search" here, you will find lots of topics and comments on him and his bows...and I believe it was all positive.
My only issue is that he sent me my new bow before I even paid him. Yep...great bows and bowyer.
Mr Turay makes a beautiful longbow....
X2 Great Guy and Great Bows!
Yep, got 6 of them.
Craftsmanship, performance & service are top shelf!
 Had 3, still got 2, great bows.
Don't own one, but have shot a few. The NM Classic is the best handling Hill-style longbow I've ever shot.
have a shelton in hand and one on order , best shooting bow i have , and i have plenty
I have a Baraga, and have a Whisper on the way. He's building a Seney for my daughter, and as said above he a top notch guy to work with. A++++++++++ in my book.
I have three, two whispers and a classic. I can't add much to what has already been said. I like Steve and the bows he builds.
I have a Shelton. One of my favorites.
Love my Shelton
Steve and his bows are as good as it gets. I have several and another coming. The Shelton is my favorite bow.
Another northern mist fan here!
Love my baraga and have another on order.
Here is an article I did on Steve and his bows when I went up to visit him. Lots of pics of him shooting a 102# bow as well as pics of him building bows.

His bows are very well made and his attention to detail is unmatched.
He is a great guy and goes above and beyond every chance he gets.
You can not go wrong with one of his bows!!
Sorry that link didn't show up as a link, my phone didn't do it right and I'm in camp right now.
If you cut and paste it it should work or you can click on my signature the hit articles and its the second article down.
Maybe this (http://tbwpodcast.com/steve-turay-of-northern-mist-longbows/) will help, Jason. Steve is a top notch guy that makes a top notch bow.

I also own a Baraga, 40# draw and I maybe be shooting it at 44#. Great shooting bow, craftsmanship is top notch. I have killed several deer with the bow including one using a stone tipped arrow.
I have 2 NM Superiors. One has green class. These are my go to hunting bows. Very light in hand, accurate and high quality. Steve is a great bowyer to work with. IMHO NM bows are very reasonably priced.
I had a NM Clasic and like a dummy I sold it but I bought another one and this one won't get away....... :)
I shot one of Steve's bows at K-ZOO, very nice bow and a very reasonable price.
Baraga and a Whisper. Both green glass. My wife shoots a Superior. Excellent bows.
Have two. A 68" Classic and a 66" Superior. Beautiful in their inherent simplicity and good shooting bows.
Man I'd really like to try a Baraga some time
I have two of his Whispers---and feel no need to buy any others.....strong lusts, but no need.
Just ordered a 64in superior at the kzoo show very very good shooter can not wait to receive it 50 at 28 green glass bamboo cores
