Great site. Have been enjoying site for awhile. Been slinging arrows for about 18 months. I must have an addictive personality, cause my wife told me i have to join Tradbow Anon. I alredy have 5 bows. 2 HOYT GM, and 3 ILF that i bought the riser and limbs (TT APEX AND RCX, AND BLACK MAX LIMBS), and have learned to make Flemish twist strings...... I don't know she might be right.....i've got it bad....
Anyway, howdy from western NC :archer2:
Howdy right back at 'ya from Central NY. :wavey: I hate to be the bearer of bad? news Sam, but there is no cure for your disease. Therapy does seem to help, get out and shoot/hunt as much as possible. ;)

Many cases of ABCD (Acute Bow Collecting Disorder) wear themselves out in a year or 5 or 10. 5 bows sounds about right to me.

Welcome Sam. There is a club near Hickory that is all traditional by the name of "Carolina Traditional Archery". It's a great club. There is a club shoot about once a month, and the friendship and food are both excellent.

Welcome from Pa. Sam!
Sam, You can Google Carolina Traditional Archery to find out the history and events there. The next monthly shoot is April 4. I don't go as often as I'd like to, but there are usually 50 or more people attending these monthly shoots. It's a fun event and there is a lot of talent among the membership. There are several bowyers, others making arrows, leather work, stone knapping, etc. It's a good place to have fun and to learn. They are the largest and oldest traditional archery club in both of the Carolinas.
There is another trad club near where I live in Mebane. It's a smaller club, but has a nice setting in the woods. Barefoot Traditional Archers (formerly Sissipahaw) has 3 open shoot events each year. Google Barefoot Traditional Archery to find out more info. They are only 12 mile away so I usually make at least two of the three events. Like Carolina Traditional Archery, the people are friendly, and the food is great.
I'm in Etowah, would love to get together with folks in this area and shoot a bit
