Title: Maddog Prairie predator??
Post by: Lewis Brookshire III on March 09, 2015, 07:52:00 PM
Anyone have experience with the short 52-54" Prairie predator longbow? I have a short 27" draw and am very interested in feedback. Pics would be a plus as well.

I have a 27" draw and I have a 57" Prairie Predator in the mail. Should be here Wednesday. To say I am dying of anticipation is an understatement. I'll report back when I've shot it with my evaluation if you'd like.

Oh you had better believe it. Although this bow already had a review done on it.  But I will be doing my own mini review as well. Can never have to many right?

I have , oh I'm not sure, 6 or 8 of them in 50"-54". I draw 26. My favorite long bows I own. Quick, smooth and fast.

Here are a few

A couple of weeks ago Mike sent me a 58" Prairie Predator with the riser made of blood wood and purple heart.  The bow is absolutely beautiful.  I was flat out amazed at how quickly it shot an arrow.  Mike definitely knows how to get good performance with his design. No hand shock and a very easy bow to get along with.  I draw 26 inches.  Mike is a great person to work with and very customer friendly.  I'm sure you would be happy with one of these!

Hi Lewis,

I don't have the bow that you are looking for, but I got Mike to build me a 60" Mountaineer, 43# @ 28" (yep, I'm grtting older).
It is the best shooting longbow I have ever owned and is really quiet and dead in the hand. Not sure about speed, but it is definately faster than my 45# Browning recurve and penetrates deeper into foam block.
Let me know if you would like to see and shoot it just to to get an idea of his workmanship and the feel for his bows. Let me know when & if you can stop by sometime and I will be here. Or we can meet at the usual gas station and you can borrow the bow for a week or two.

Chuck

PS: Oh yeah, The Mountaineer is also made in shorter lengths.
