Just received new to me R/D longbow by Leon Stewart. As it is f/f compatible, was wondering about using an 8 strand SBD string. Was wondering if anyone with a Stewart longbow has used an SBD and your opinion of the results. Thanks, Gary.
I haven't used SBD strings on my Stewart bows. I just order strings directly from Leon.
Sorry can't help ,I also just use Leon's strings on my Slammer. Good luck.
Leon's warranty does not apply for all string materials, just because it is f/f compatible. At least that was the case when I bought mine. Fastflight actually stretches more than some others. You might want to ask him.
I asked Leon if he had a string for a Jack Harrison I had just purchased used off a friend, he shows me a 450 plus with the old fishing line serving ( can't remember what it's called ) I bought it, even though I was a little apprehensive about doing so, because once it breaks, it's gone, your not fixing it. I was using that bow for an upcoming elk hunt and the last thing one wants is problems with gear ! Once again Leon shows that he knows his archery, the overall performance of that bow was just fantastic, so much so that I must call him and order a string for a new to me Morrison Shawnee.
Moral of this answer, call him, he'll help you out !
Haven't had the pleasure of shooting a Slammer yet, but an SBD was the quietest string I shot on my old Selway/Centaur.
Thanks for the info, prolly a good idea to call Mr. Stewart. Not that I am not pleased with the overall performance of the bow, it is a shooter in all respects. I have had experience with the SBD 8 strand string and thought what if. But do not want to create a problem, I am in love with this bow! Thanks again, Gary.
