I took a ride over to Ocala today to the TBOF spring shoot. Checked out the venders and ran into Mike Treadway. So we got talking about bows and family issues with our parents health and just things in general. In the process I saw a Osage riser on the rack he had out for display.....I'm a sucker for Osage. All Osage with cedar lams, Caribou horn tips, 66" 42# @ 28". So to make a long story short, I strapped in on the bike and came home with it. My wife just rolled her eyes when I got back  :saywhat: Picture coming,,,,,
This will look great! I'm a sucker for Osage also. It is my favorite bow wood. Congrats on the new stick Ron!
I've found if you say "well I enjoy it so much, not for hunt or spending time with the guys, it's because every time I return home I get butterflies in my stomach when I see you" you get a smile back. :goldtooth:
Forgot to add that this will only work twice! My backup is noon love this is my other bow that I asked mike to have a look at its shooting skew! :biglaugh:
Congrats Ron !!! Looking forward to the pictures.
Bill
:coffee:

I'd love to shoot one of Mike's l-o-n-g longbows. I have one of his D/R 60" and it's a sweetheart.
This is Mike's "Treadway Traditional" It's called "Back to basics" and it strings up to a "D" shape. Thanks for doing the PIC Charlie :notworthy:
Ron i'll be around tomorrow if you want a few more pic's of it.
It will have to wait a bit Ken........
These d shaped bows of mikes are awesome shooters.
Congratulations Ron.

Ken unless you are willing to drive to Fla.... You may have to wait lol.
Sweet looking bow Ron !!! Really like the looks of that Osage. Like all of Mike Treadway's bows, his "Traditional" is a real shooter.
Bill
Real nice.
Sweet!!! :archer:
Looks good Ron!
Nice!!
Double wow on that one Ron. I was going to the shoot. If nothing else for the great BBQ from the vendor who is fantastic. Had to have a bad tooth pulled end of the week so it would have been hard to be shooting where I was looking.
My wife had to put up with me this weekend wishing I was there shooting, as I am not a good sick person, especially under the influence of pain pills. Maybe she won't roll her eyes too much when I bring a pretty one home next year when I attend. She'll be glad I went.
Well alright rom w! :archer2:
nice Ron . congrats

Ron P, you are talking one bow for every day of the year.
I believe what Ron W is working toward is one bow for every day this decade. :readit:
I'll fall a bit short of that......but when then the right one comes along......... :dunno:

Me too! That's a beauty Ron, congrats.
I've found that once you get to the point that the women just roll their eyes at you when you show up with a new bow, you've got it licked. Getting to that point can be dangerous though. ;) Thanks for sharing.
Bob
Thats a beauty Ron!
So yesterday I was getting back in the swing of things after vacation and the phone rings......it was Mike Treadway wanting to know if I was happy with my new bow.............
I was a bit embarrassed, I told him I just got home and the weather was crappy.....and I had not even shot it yet. Well today I took it out and ran a few cedars thru her. I am impressed, quick, at the release dead in the hand and like a whisper. Smooth as silk back to my 29" draw. I'm really pleased with Mr. Treadways skills as a bowyer. I called him back to tell him that his buy back policy if not pleased would not be put to the test any time soon.........lol!
Big fan of the cedar. Beautiful new bow.
Man, that's a Beauty Ron!
Good to hear from you Frank..........The pictures don't do it justice.
Glad you love your new bow ron... and I agree its good to see Frank here again!
Beauty, really like that Osage and Cedar Ron.
Good luck with the bow, real pretty.

I remember seeing that bow at TBOF. It is a really nice looking bow. Good find! I wish I could afford to be a bowjunkie, too.

Nice bow Ron!
Beautiful bow Ron, gotta love that new bow smell! :archer2:
Took the Treadway to a club meeting last night to show it off. Bunch of guys shot it........I had to really keep an eye on it afterwards, Nothing but positive comments. It throws my cedars with gusto!!
Good looking bow Ron.
I am picking up my longbow from Mike Treadway next Saturday at the Kentucky Tradfest. I will post some pictures when I get back and all the details. Ordered it from him last year.

Ron,
All these new bows you talk about are trying to be hard on my pocket-book! It's hard not to want one after seeing pics like that!
TTT
Congrats Ron that one looks like a dandy!
Ron, if you happen, in your travels, to stumble across one of Mike's long, "D" type bows with the shelf on the correct side (right side) for me, please shoot me a PM or e-mail. I'd be a buyer. Just can't afford to order new right now.
Ron P
I will do that Ron.......something around 60#'s.... :biglaugh:
Yeah right :) I wish.
How about something in the mid-40s.
LOL......we have about the same taste when it comes to bow weight.....I'll keep my eyes open, but I'm starting shoot left side as well so I may just keep it for myself.......
