It's come to my attention that there are some stumps that have been causing trouble and are considered very dangerous .
The weather here is expected to get above freezing and that is when they start to get out of hand .
So I think that I will have to take it upon myself to try and hunt them down and take'em out . If you use a bow and arrow you can get more than one cause a gun would spook off the rest .
I just gotta do what has to be done .
Graps, I appreciate your efforts to rid the neighborhood of those dangerous and devious threats to all that is sacred! But if you are a true sportsman you need to eat what you kill, right? Have any good recipes? :biglaugh:
I only shoot stumps with mushrooms on them.. :)
Watch out for frozen ones. They can eat arrows :scared:
Be careful! Some stumps will bite back!

I hear ya I will be out tracking down a few myself
I love stumping, but I've not perfected the stalking of them yet. Seems they want to move on me. LOL. :dunno:
My favorite way to cook them is in an open fire . The trouble is they seem to escape when I check to see when they are done . Where did they go ?
Just look out for imposters. I ran into one the other day, a rock in stump-camo. This was the result:

What is the daily bag limit on them there. We have a long season on them here, but I always have trouble taking my limit. Most of them here are some what quick and like to stay in thick brush. However we do have some real trophys.
Wow. . . it HAS been a long and brutal winter !

Ours are still hibernating under a thick covering of snow. Nice to know the season has opened in some areas.
No closed season or bag limits on them here, I think they're considered an invasive species. The best way I've found to prepare them is in a camp fire with friends, beverage of your choice.

Amen, brother!
Yep, finally warming up in Michigan. I got about 2hrs of work to do then heading out with the dog to rid the state game area of a few stumps. :archer:
Tell me, do you aim for the heart(wood) or some other kill zone ?
