A friend that shoots with the recurve guys at the local archery club as an older Bear take-down and needs lighter limbs. It has the cam levers used to lock the limbs in place.
The riser is marked B1616 and is 19 1/2 inches long, overall.
He would like to make a 62" or 64" bow with a set of 35" limbs.
I was hoping to find a used set for him. What do I need to look for?
It is a "B" riser so a set of #2 limbs will give him a 62" bow. #3 limbs will give him a 64" bow.
Ok, thanks. Now where do I find such?
35# might make it even tougher.
Just search here for bear takedown limbs in the tradbows section. They come up for sale quite often, though usually not that light in weight and they aren't cheap. I usually see them in the $250-300 range used, they're around $340-$400 new depending on who makes them.
That's a pretty darn valuable riser, they deserve a nice set of limbs. If it were me I wouldn't skimp out on cheap ones, but everyone has a budget.

There are plenty of lighter limbs out there, usally the lighter limbs will be white.Alot of the used Bear T/D limbs that are white are their target versions.Same limb just different color.Best place to look is in the classifieds? Maybe place an add looking for lighter weight Bear T/D limbs?
There is a set of new in the box, white #3 limbs that are 38 pounds for sale on the auction site now.
I would order a set of aftermarket limbs made on my specs.IMHO. That riser for sure worths the price.
RVTB,
Sent you a PM about these limbs.
