We were headed home after getting a few groceries this morning, and saw a "huge sale" sign by the road. My girlfriend wanted to stop and look around, so we did. I didn't see much of anything outdoor related, but while I was looking through some books I came across a copy of A GUIDE TO HUNTING ADIRONDACK DEER, by Charles Alsheimer and Larry Watkins. I didn't even have to open it, to know It's a good book, so I bought it for a dollar. When I got home and looked it over, the first thing I noticed was that It's signed by Mr. Alsheimer. "10-26-87 - Best wishes Charles J. Alsheimer" After skimming through it a little, I realised just how much good information there is between the covers. Can't wait to read it through.

Good investment, enjoy

I read that When it first came out. Good book, but geared towards the big woods rifle hunter. Still a good read and info can be used to help you pattern and scout.

Yeah, it is geared more toward gun hunting, but like you said Ron, a good read regardless. I love to read outdoor-hunting books anyway, but growing up in the Adirondacks and having hunted there for years, I think I enjoy reading about hunting there the most. Thanks.

Who says a dollar won't buy anything useful anymore?

I will add that I still have that book on the shelf.

Cool Book. Heck I would have paid $1.50 lol

I went to a Whitetail Seminar in Utica and both Charlie and Larry were there promoting their book. I still have that autographed book and even though it's rat eared and some of the pages are loose I wouldn't sell for anything. What strikes me is the date that Bob mentioned 1987. I went and found my book and yes the date on mine is 10-09-87. Where have the years gone?
Regards,
Rick

Rick, all I know is that the older I get the faster they seem to go. I try to live each one to It's fullest. Among other things, that includes hunting as much as possible. ;) Thanks for the replies everybody.
