Greetings guys. I have returned to the pool of knowledge, deep and wide, once again for your expertise and wisdom.
I am trying to match arrows to a schafer silvertip, 47 pounds at 30 inches. I am wanting to try some easton axis traditonal arrows and was wondering as to spine. Looks to me like 500 might be the way to go but with my draw length I don't have a lot of arrow length to play with. I would like to hang around 125 -175 points if possible.
Any suggestions helpful.

What weight insert?
Standard insert, I believe 16 grains or thereabouts. But willing to adjust somewhat. Open to suggestions.
With a standard insert 500s will probably be your best bet.
Assuming you are going to leave the arrows at least 31" to BOP, I'm thinking you're going to need a 400. Just threw a few #'s into Stu's calculator and 500's came up pretty light. Of course I didn't know if it was a longbow or recurve, what kind of string, sideplate, etc. If it is a longbow 47@30" and you are drawing 30", you had a 1/16" sideplate, 10 strand FF string, left the arrow at 31.25", and shot 3 x 5" feathers (no wraps or additional nock end weight), with a 175gn point, you would come in almost perfect according to the calculator. If it's a recurve, you would have to drop to 125gn point to get close. Granted, the calculator is just a place to start. In my experience though, if you input the right data, it will get you petty darn close. You can go to 3Rivers website and play with it without having to download anything. The string is the thing when it comes to tuning...a Silvertip could have anything from an overbuilt b50 to the latest and greatest on it...I have about the same draw length as you and my Kodiak Deluxe needs 340 spine arrows with a BCY-X string at that draw weight...with its b50 string it works fine with 500

One thing to consider.
The axis traditionals come standard with 75-50 break off brass inserts.
There are a lot of factors to consider there is no doubt. The Trads seem to shoot a little stiffer than the N-Fused for me. I think that you could shoot a 400 with a 75gr (these come with the trads) and a 125 point though. I shoot 10lbs more and draw two inches less and shoot a 340.
I'm shooting the 31" 400 Axis FMJ with the 16gr insert and 175 up front from a 56@30 Toelke Super D with good results. That's also spot on using Stu's calc. If that helps you or muddys it up more.....
