I have been reading the reviews on these strings here and finally got around to getting one. Wow! What a significant difference in quietness and arrow speed. I don't chrono my arrows but the arrow speed is definitely enhanced. I understand now why these are called skinny strings...was almost afraid to draw the bow. But after shooting it for an hour, letting it settle, then put wool puffs on it...my bow is just a mere whisper when shot. Just one more step completed in getting my setup tuned for this year's hunting season...Great string! Now...if only April would get here...
Bill-
Sounds like you have a nice rig for sure. I like all the toelke bows. Those sbd strings sure are nice.
how skinny is the string?? doesnt Dan put 8 strand on his bows already?? what woods in your D?? got one arriving tomorrow, cant wait!
I've bought a bunch of Dan's bows and his strings are pretty good but SBD is more better. Both of my Toelkes wear SBD strings.
Pete p, It is skinnier than the ones Dan supplies and the performance is fantastic. Please post some pics of your D when you can...I just love that bow! Mine has walnut cores, tiger maple riser (stained) and pao ferro veneers with a beaver tail grip. It's a shooter and a keeper.
Bill-
Sounds like a beauty! Post pics of yours too Mud Slide!

That is a gorgeous bow Bill!
That is a good looking bow....!!! I'm gonna try one of the Super D's someday....!! SBD strings are awesome too...!!
This Super D sports an SBD in my railroad colors. Perfect string for this bow. (http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii498/tzolkosky/Super%20D/IMG_20150227_055244204_HDR_zpsghgkfmdm.jpg)
Hey Mud, that bow is so pretty makes me want to go and buy one !
Thanks Mud Slide! That's beautiful. I love the looks of walnut core lams.
If your bow is 50#'s or less at your draw SBD will make you a 6 strand string. Sure makes my low poundage bow shoot short arrows pretty quick.
After seeing your bow, I had to remind myself that this was a string thread. She's a beauty. I think I'll look into those strings myself. Thanks.
Bob
Dan's 8 strands are pretty darn good AND extremely quiet on my Super D. When it came time for new strings, the SBD wait time was something like 4 weeks and Dan made me up some in 4 days.
Having said that, I have a SBD string on my Thunderstick Mag and it has some zip and I may get an SBD for my next strings for the D.
Can vouch for SBD and just super great guy.The only strings I ever use.
Just got my Super D from Dan and it's 66" and 47#@28. Already made a string for it from D97 and made it a 10 strand string. Question.....being that the bow is new to me, I'm wondering as to the brace height. Dan has it from 6 3/4 to 7 3/8, what is yours set at?
Just got my Super D from Dan just a few days ago and made a new string out of D97...10 strands. ANy suggestions for brace height? Dan says 6 3/4 to 7 3/8..... my bow is 66" 47#@28 Pao Ferro riser and Mango veneers
Draw 30" on my 66" Super D , brace at a hair over 6 3/4.
Yep...I draw mine at 30" as well. My brace height is also at 6 3/4" and is perfect. Also, thanks for the comments regarding the pics of my bow...it is appreciated, but Dan is the one that puts it all together and makes it work. Bowyers just amaze me.
Bill-
I love my Super D! I bought it's used on the classifieds and it came with a SBD string so I don't know any different. That bow flat shoots though! Can't wait to take it turkey hunting this spring.
