Looking to pick up an Asbell pullover/jacket for this upcoming fall. The only questions I have are what pattern to select and how do the sizes run? I will be hunting primarily in hemlocks, maples, and oaks. I typically wear mediums but realistically will be wearing this article as outerwear and have layers underneath. Thanks for any recommendation you can pass my way.
I hunt out of alot of maple and oak trees and really like evening stand brown. Seems to have the right mix of brown and greens for most of my deer season. Gabe
I would say either Evening Stand Green or Brown would blend in well. I hunt in hardwoods with cedars throughout here in TN and I love those two patterns. I also have Timber Ghost that I really like.
They are cut pretty generously. I also wear a medium tshirt size. I have Mediums in the Asbell products too and there's room for several thinner layers underneath.
I like my evening stand brown. Posted a pict in the ground hunting thread in front of a downed pine tree. The timber ghost pattern looks good also, but I don't won that one.
You guys are on the right track. I have proven to myself that Evening Stand Brown and Timber Ghost are perfect for any scenario. Oddly enough....Timber Grey....just plain grey..also provides amazing camo-effect.

up here in the Massachusetts open hardwoods and buckbrush jungles I love my timber ghost. Works even with snow on the ground :)

I normally wear lg/xl depending on fit...but bought XL in the wool so I can layer a windproof jacket under it.
Guys thanks for the info
Timber Ghost is awesome pattern!
I use timber Ghost and ESB, plan on getting a lighter weight ESG for earlier season.
I wear a size L normally and both my zippered pull overs in size large allow multiple layers underneath.
I bought a pullover in evening stand green to wear when hunting in the U.P. here in Michigan works good in the mixed hardwoods and balsams. I usually wear a large but went with an XL to be able to layer under it and it works great plenty of room and not too bulky.
i wish they still had the montana magic...stuff made you vanish in the fall woods.
no pic but Morning Mist was a pretty impressive Pattern for me here in New England late season with the hardwood/pine/snowy backgrounds.
