I just joined and thought I'd tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in the southern Adirondacks here in NY, and currently live in the central part of the state. I started shooting traditional bows as a kid, but went to compounds when I was in my 20's. I hunted with them for a few years, but it didn't take long for me to realise that something was missing. They just didn't hold the same excitement and satisfaction for me that hunting with traditional archery does. I went back to traditional archery about 25 years ago, and haven't looked back. Anyway, I'm looking forward to spending some time here and getting to know you folks.

Welcome from WV to the best website available.
Greetings from baldwinsville. Where are you at in this forsaken state.
If your closeby maybe we can hook up and do some stumping.
I won't be here long tho. Family is packing up and moving to Idaho.
Welcome from another CNY-er.
Thank you all, I really appreciate it. It's nice to see that I've got some neighbors here too.
kevsuperg, Thanks a lot for your stumpin' offer, I wish I could take you up on it. Right now I'm nursing two bad rotor cuffs. I've needed surgery on them for a couple years now, and all the shoveling I've been doing has really messed them up. I haven't been able to shoot for about three weeks now and It's driving me crazy. They'll calm down in time, and I'll be able to get back at it again. I've gotta quit putting it off and just get them done. My practice over the past year, is shooting a few arrows a few times a day, so I don't strain them too much. I haven't even been able to get out small game hunting lately. Thanks again for the offer, I really do appreciate it.
Bob
Welcome and Hello, I'm in the Mohawk Valley and try to stay active in the outdoors as much as time allows. If you ever need a hand or help with something......... :wavey: give a holler. Where in central N.Y. are you at!
Thanks for the welcome and your offer ron, I appreciate it. kevsuperg asked where I was located too, and I forgot it in my reply. I'm in Plainfield. If you're not familiar with it, It's up in the hills, about 3 miles south of West winfield. Thanks again ron.
Bob
That's about an hour from me......spent some at Tollgate Archery on Rt. 20.....spent some money there also.....lol!
Welcome to the campfire!
Thanks Dannybows.
ron, I've spent quite a bit of time and money there myself over the years. George and Margaret always took good care of me. That's the difference between going to a pro shop, and buying your tackle at Walmart. Not that there's anything wrong with buying things at Walmart, but you get a more personal experience at a place like the Tollgate. They're trying to sell the place, and the last I knew george was only making arrows. I wish them the best.
Bob
whitetail, just an FYI, i work for Syracuse Orthopedic specialists in syracuse if you ever need to get those shoulders looked at.. we'll get you back on the bow..
This is a good place to hang out.
Welcome form NC.
Welcome. You can have a lot of fun and learn a lot from the folks here.
Thanks Sam McMichael, deerhunter_w and GreyGoose. This IS a great place. I get so wrapped up in reading all the excellent info here, that I have to remind myself to post.
Kevsuperg, thanks for the offer. I have a surgeon that worked on my knees four years ago. He didn't kill me then, so I'll probably have him do the knee replacements, and the rotator cuff surgeries too. I've put it all off because I didn't want to miss out on any hunting, but things have gotten to the point now that I'm not able to hunt at times anyway, so I guess It's about time. I may set one up for after turkey season this spring and go from there. Thanks again.
Bob

Thanks Rick, I appreciate that. We're not too far apart at all. I've done some work in cooperstown and fished Otsego lake a few times. It can get a little congested during the hall of fame game and inductions can't it?

Thank you too, It's good to be here. Yeah, This place is something. 10 days and 5 pages later and I'm still being welcomed to the site. It's the same if I ask a question. Everybody's more than willing to help. I don't see myself leaving any time soon. :D Thanks again.

Welcome, from the Catskills.
:wavey: :campfire: :archer:
Thank you both, much appreciated. :wavey:

Bob,
Your right about the congestion. Cooperstown proper is a good place to stay away from during induction week-end.
Rick
I've meant to say this twice and haven't, so I'll do it now while I'm thinking about it. Ron W and grouseshooter002 both offered to help me with advice or a hand if I need it, and from what I've seen I think a lot of the others here would do the same. I really appreciate that, and I want to make the same offer. I'm far from an expert, but if there's ever anything I can do for any of you folks, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks.
Bob
Welcome from Norway! You've found the the best place on the entire internet. For archers, anyway...
