I've been shooting eclipse 125 grain heads and was wanting to bump up my head weight and try some 175 grizzly instincts id read about for hogs. But I can only find them in 200 grain and I think that's probably a little more than id want. I shoot right at 50 lbs at 27". Any idea where to find some? Or do they even make them anymore?
Bill received a new batch a few weeks ago. Go to zipper or Grizzly website and e-mail them. He may have some left.
They were not listed on the website. BTW, they look like some awesome BHs.
Thx
We have about 2,000 175 grain Instincts at the brazers right now. They should have them done by next monday. Then they are off to heat treat and then the coaters. All of this should take about 3-4 weeks.
Once we have them on hand we will add them to Grizzly's website.
Bill
Are you going to come out with a 125gr Instinct?
Thx Bill, I replied to your email also. Put my name on a dozen and I'll give em a try!

That will require 2 new dies.New dies are VERY expensive so do not look for it to happen this year. We do intend to build new dies to get the weight down below 175 grains. The best way to get the weight down and keep the head non vented is to shorten it some.
These are awesome heads. I like the 175's the best with my set-up, but would also love to have some lighter whenever that happens.
Bill, as long as we are wishing, how bout short and wide.
Something 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" wide in you three blade. If I want long and lean I'll go with a Grizzly or Kodiak.
Sometimes you want more knock-down and a wider cutting area, not everything we hunt needs the 3 to 1 ratio for max penetration.
Just my two cents.

Very true, Roy.
I think the 175 will work for me. Can't wait to give those a try. I'm watching for when they are ready. Does anyone else plan to make a 250 grain head out of these?
I'd use the 200 but that would require an aluminum adapter. The steel adapters are mush stronger.
Hey Bill, are these 175 instincts a glue in that needs an adapter? or are they going to be available as a screw in type too?
I'm pretty sure that the 175 grain is a glue-in that requires an adapter for use as a screw-in, like the 200 grain. He lists the adapters on his website.

At the 175 weight they will be a glue on. We have adapters on hand to make them screw ins but 200 grains is as light as we can get the 3 blade as a screw in.
Very soon we will be offering all the Grizzly heads as screw ins as well.
A couple 175 instincts and a couple 175 Grizzlies in a quiver sounds just about right where an occasional pig may come along
