What is the difference between lams and vineers or are they the same?

Vaneers are very thin laminations that go just under the clear glass.  They are there for cosmetic reasons.  Typically they are a beautiful wood like bocote that is not a great performing lamination wood.  Vaneers are used to cover up a plain looking lamination core like bamboo or maple.  Chad

Lams are the structure layers of the wood and veneers are very thin layers of wood put under clear glass for looks,but still need to be considered in the weight formula.
