Exceptionally Nice!
Now that is sweet, perfect specs. also. Congrats on a beautiful bow. let us know how she shoot's.
Ken does make some pretty bows, and I hear they work as well as they look !
I shall wait to see what 1/4 has to say about his new bow. If his findings are anything like mine with my Phoenix he will run out of superlatives to describe it.

That is Beautiful!!!!!
I know it's already been said but that truly is a beautiful bow.
Excellent!!!
Gorgeous bow, you are going to love it, i have the new onepiece, better plan on getting a little stiffer arrow for that bow, i just went down that road.
mooshkat, So I've been told. I already placed an order for a 1/2 dz GT trad 5575's from Big Jim to see how they fly.
She sure is a LOOKER Fred! :scared:
That's one of the prettiest bows I have ever laid my eyes on. Congratulations to you:)
Real nice.

That's a stunning bow. Ken is a master and you are in for a real treat. I'm sad to see my Phoenix go in a way, but I'm just happier with slightly less mass in my bow and I have to have one of the new Rose Oak Heritage 3pc bows that Brandon started making, so something's gotta give. I won't go too long without a WhippenStick though, I think I'll grab one of his longbows before too long I'm sure. Going to be submitting my review of the Phoenix to TradArcher's World here shortly in a couple days so look for it in the Spring issue.
Good looking stick!

Fred, That's a Beauty!!
Sweet!!!
Thanks again guys.
Chuck, I look forward to reading your review.
I like it. Looks great. One of my Schafers due this year has that wood combo.
1/4 Away, you sure have a super bow coming! Ken is a master craftsman with the best bow finish that I've ever seen on a bow. I have two of his longbows, and have seen several of his Phoenix 3-pic., which are a work of art. Outstanding shooters!
Have fun with it Fred.Glad you got one.Its sweeet looking.
Very nice...congrats on the new stick!!
Sweeeet!!!
Beautiful bow! CONGRATS
Beautiful bow! If that shoots half as good as it looks, I pity the deer in your woods.
How long of a wait did you have?
WOW.....nice one.....
Woa Fred! That is a sweet combination of woods and grain character. Beauty@!
I would love to try one of Ken's bows
Man that sure is pretty !!! :notworthy:
Bill
Hitman, 5 month wait. Placed my order in October of last year.
Fred
Great looking bow Brother, I hope it has the mojo for ya!
Very nice looking!
Fred,
That's gorgeous. I was shooting 55/75 GT's out of my 45 lb one. They flew great. As Ken told me, you may have to adjust your gap from what you were shooting. Ken was right. Have fun!
Kyle
What a beautiful shooting stick. Enjoy this one.
Sexy bocote, Fred!!
Sexy bocote, Fred!!

Fred....
Uuggghhh... What a bummer! Waiting to get your hands on it will seem longer than the past five months. Here's the silver lining; at least you didn't miss the mailman on a Saturday. Can't wait to hear your first impressions!
That is Beautiful! :archer2:
Wow, you would think this is your first time.
If it don't work out for you put me on the sell list for it.
good looking, and my specks too!
I think you lose a couple points off of your man card for missing it. :scared:
Fred,
I'm moving up to N.Y. and going to become your MailMan! :goldtooth:
Great looking bow Fred.
Can't wait for the review!! :archer2:
Well, I picked up the bow a little less than an hour ago and while we haven't spent that much time outside cause the temp here is only 9 degrees here is my initial impression of my Phoenix.
First off the craftsmanship is impeccable and the limb fit to the riser was tight. I really like the double alignment pins along with the limb bolts. The limb tips are sculpted spear points which are cool looking. The medium grip fit my hand perfectly and one would think I sent Ken a tracing of my hand but I had not. The bow feels solid in the hand, balanced with just the right amount of mass weight. The draw is very smooth which surprised me a bit due to the aggressive hook in the limbs.
I only shot about 1/2 dozen arrows out of it cuz my fingers were going numb from the cold. The bow is definitely fast to the eye and I'm going to have to adjust my point of aim some as this is probably the flattest shooting bow I've owned. I shot it braced at the low end of recommended brace height which is 71/2-8" and it was very quiet even without a quiver on it. The bow came with an endless loop string which had 2 small cat whiskers on it. I am not a fan of endless loop strings and have one of Allen Schafers rhino strings for it which I am putting on it for our next date.
Nice, keep us updated Fred on your thoughts. It takes a week or two to truly find the most in a new bow.

Guys Im telling you a Whippenstick bow is one heck of a bow! His craftsmanship is top notch and attention is in every detail. I would say the only thing is his strings, I too don't care for endless loop strings. But a lot of guys do!
1/4 I knew you would be happy :)
Nice! Nice! Nice! You'll have to post a few pictures when you get it up and running with your new string. Great choice of woods! :clapper:
Bernie
I dont understand whats the difference between endless loop that ken provides vs. Others? I just picked this new whippenstik to me from rat and its just a flat out awesome bow! Heck, ken doesnt even like his own flemish, thats why he makes the endless. Ken recommended charlie for different strings, but from what i have seen from this bow its amazing. Grats on your new bow! I to would have missed my bow, but my mailman knows i get long special packages :-)
Congrats on the new bow...its a beauty!
congrats! Same here a happy whippenstick owner. his bows are real beasts! the longbow i got from ken shoots faster than my ilf recurve of same weight.
My Whippenstick is the fastest bow I have ever shot through a chronograph and I have tried MANY this is including many top recurves. Bill
I think if the MRS. read all these comments she be jealous...congrats...
Well, has the weather improved and allowed you to get out and shoot that new bow. I feel like I have been left hanging not having heard but a short initial reports.
Regards,
Dan
Dan, Sorry to leave you hanging.....aside from my initial impressions that I posted on page 4 of this thread, I can tell you that while I don't have a chronograph my Phoenix shoots flatter and faster than any other bow I've ever owned. Not only that but with a Rhino string from Allen Shafer it is extremely quiet and hits my target like a ton of bricks. The only "problem" with it is that It likes a stiffer spines arrow so I can't shoot my GT trad 3555's out of it. I had to buy some GT trad 5575's and after some playing around with point weights have settled on a combo that she likes. GT trad 5575's cut 30 1/2" ( I draw 29) 4 fletched with a 50grain brass insert +a 20 grain screw in weight and a 175grain field tip for a total weight of 560 grains.
The bow is only 48# at my draw. It is a meticulously crafted, deadly accurate and whisper quiet recurve.
I've shot this bow and shot nearly a foot high consistently right off the bat. Very flat shooting, accurate, and quiet.
Basically what Fred said x2
Great Bow Fred. You will have to send me your Damon howatts since you will not be able to switch back and forth between the two ;) ;) :p
Sure thing Charlie, right after you send me that Griffin. :biglaugh: :D
And take it easy Dan, Fred leaves me hanging all the time. I had to practically beg him to let me shoot his bows.... :biglaugh:

I would Fred but it doesnt sound like the Griffin shoots as flat as the phoenix either
