I don't know what's gotten into a few folks, but some have, for what ever reason, have taken to bashing others, others equipment choices, and shooting styles/ and or repetitively posting trying to start an argument. Some have been given not one but TWO chances here already.
If you feel the need to put down others, or the need to take out an agenda against others, for what ever reason, even if you just can't help yourself.....please find another site to post on.
Thanks Terry, Id hate to see this place end up like the low wall.
I support the ADMIN to delete negative posts right away. Thank you ADMIN.
Well said Terry.
  Thanks.
This is the only archery website I frequent and/or sponsor, precisely for THAT reason. Thank you Terry
Well put. This place is one of the only remaining websites that seems to have been successful in weeding out the negativity and is a super positive place.

There is a reason I haven't spent any amount of time on other sites for the last 7 years. Thanks Terry and others for keeping Tradgang clean, respectful and committed to Traditional Bowhunting.
That's why I support this site and no other! Unreal how other sites can be so negative,,,thanks for not letting that happen here!
Very well said it shouldn't be handled at all terry you have a Awesome site here if someone doesn't have anything good to say don't say anything at all ....some people act like super heros and I am glad there getting noticed! :clapper:
I prefer to give grace.
:clapper:

Bravo Zulu
Thanks guys. :clapper:
Tryin' to control some of these people is like nailing jello to a wall... Keep up the good work Terry... I dig this site a lot!
... mike ... :archer2: ...
This is the friendliest board around!!!! Thank you for keeping it this way!
Goose smasher
I like coming here because it is a friendly site where I've learned a lot and have "met" lots of great people. Keep up the great work!
There are other bow sites? News to me. Keep up the peaceful internet environment we all enjoy here. Thanks fella!
Well said Terry

Keep a short leash and don't reward bad behavior...
Thanks Terry and all the admin, for your dedication and time spent on keeping this sight that we all enjoy. Love this sight and all the great info I enjoy everyday. :campfire: :clapper:
You won't get no argument outta me! Do what you gotta to keep this place user and family friendly.
A very good reason why I like this site. Even when someone disagrees with you they can get their point across without name calling and fighting.
Thanks Terry, I hope it will always stay like this.
Thanks a lot to Terry and all the Mods. I try to make a point to always comment on threads like this, mostly just to make sure you guys know how much your effort is appreciated by all of us who follow the rules. Respectful disagreement is healthy and informative. I like that about this site. I love this site, have never been to any of the other ones.
Keep up the good work!!!
Jake

Great job great site
Nothing but great folks here
:clapper: :clapper: I hope it wasn't something that I said........... :dunno:
x4 on roger's pot...
We are up to page three and it has been well said, but I'll repeat it anyway. This a fine and civil site frequented by good decent folks! I belong to several other sites that are not bow sites that have a similar atmosphere of respect. The thing that they seem to have in common is they don't allow anonymity. It's nice to have a place like this where people treat each other like a valued neighbor.
:clapper: :clapper: Well put.
thanks Terry...
:clapper: :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Wow....I gotta say this surprises me. I have found tradgang to be BY FAR the most friendly and welcoming site I've EVER posted on. It's so friendly, helpful and welcoming that I can't even tell you who the mods are. I am an administrator and moderator on a high traffic deer hunting site and while it's a very good forum it's NOWHERE as on target (topic wise) and nowhere near as helpful and friendly as this one.
KUDOS to you and the mods for doing a fantastic job. I'm sure there's something I missed because I only open what interests me but what I have opened has been full of great content.
Thanks again for a great site and for allowing me to be a part of it.
Chris
 :campfire:
I guess Cabin Fever is just too much for some people.
Well said!THANKS
I haven't noticed much negativity here, but apparently some try it.
This site is great and I have learned sooo much by asking and listening here.
Thanks Terry, for your policing efforts.
There's no room for bashing.
I guess I missed all the shenanigans, cause I have no idea what happened. The mods must be doing a great job.
Thanks for keeping it on the rails.
Nothing I can add that has not been said
In my humble but accurate opinion this is the most friendly and informative traditional archery forum on the web :) . I have been treated with the utmost respect and everyone has been very patient with all my noob questions. I feel it is due to the hard work and dedication of the admins and also the fine character and comradery of the members that frequent this forum. I hope to make this my home on the web for traditional archery for a very long time. :campfire:

I don't know any other trad shooters where I live, so tradgang is the only place I know of to get info and suggestions from experienced trad hunters and shooters. I haven't seen any negative comments while I have been a member everyone has been very helpful, polite, and respectful. I like the way this site operates a lot! everyone here has been very friendly to me. I say it a lot, but thanks again y'all for this great site!!!!
Thanks!
Me too.
Thanks Terry and all Mods and Admin. I came here to learn... and I am. Thanks again to all positive gang members.
As a trad bowhunter, I'm a loner by choice. But, when I do desire the company of like minded individuals I come here.
This is the best bow site by far. I agree with all of the positive comments posted by others. The mods and administrators do a fantastic job.
Heard tell of someone labeling us as 'thin skinned'...and lacked a sense of humor.
Now THAT'S funny!
Anyone that has an inside to this place knows how thick our skin is and how much crap we've had to put up with. If we had thin skin we sure wouldn't have stuck around here this long with all the TG haters and bashers about. We give folks PLENTY of rope and they end up hanging themselves. As for a sense of humor, I don't know...as some folks that actually KNOW me, don't go on what you've 'heard tell'.
I wish I had recordings of some of the rides from camp to stand over the years, sometimes it was hard to stay in the truck.
:biglaugh: :biglaugh:
:clapper: :clapper: :clapper: Well said.
Terry because of the no BS policy way this place runs is why its as good as it is. Only ones who can bash are the ones who were't allowed to have their own agenda and got banned if they talk smack on another site. Who needs that type anyways. I know others who are allowed on other sites to act out and won't do it here because it would be a ban. Also others on other sites who were banned here do bash the gang and thats the reason to begin with that caused them to be banned. Attacking others directly.
Sorry Guys...not sure how it happened, but there were two running threads on here...both were 4 pages...most of the same folks posted on both but a few different. Not sure how a 'copy' was made, but I'll ask Rob, he's the genius behind the scenes.
I have not experienced or personally seen "pot shots from the peanut gallery" here on TG.
Sooooo I guess the moderators are doing an good job
Oh. Other than that pot shot wizard shooting video, but I guess that would be labeled off topic.
:clapper:

Ye don't have to be a pirate to have a sense of humor, eh matey.
Yeh Terry I agree , some folks get off on starting trouble . On the Michagan bow site there is a lot of that. I no longer post anything there. I hope it doesn't start here.
I enjoy the meaningful comments on this site .
Yes, and we also don't have a NINE page Soap Opera Thread about any other site here either.

Job well done. Thanks Terry. :campfire:
Thank you,this site is great!
Leland
Keep up the great work Terry...
Thanks, Terry. Lose the haters! :clapper:
Great site! I like the fact that it is actively moderated. I also appreciate that the Forum has a more narrow focus than most. Trad and Trad related. By far one of the most civil sites I have come across of any kind. A combination of hard work on your part and the quality of people attracted to Traditional Bowhunting.
 :clapper: :clapper:
This place is like home with a really large extended family! That why I love it here. The mods do an excellent job keeping this site going. Thank you for all you do! :clapper:
Trad Gang remains an inscrutable providential refuge.
I am assuredly grateful for its resolute guardians.

Sad to see this happen here. I have been here for over 11 years. A lot of great people and information here. It's a part of me now.

I feel like I found home when I joined here! Everyone is so willimgnto help you with whatever you ask! I love forums as long as they operate as a friendly community.... Most are not
I have been on a few other sites, all compound users mainly, it always ends up in a fight on there. Everyone here has been overly helpful. I remember when I posted on another site that I was going to commit to trad for 2015, one response was " good for you, get ready to not kill anything" ...and when I would ask questions about recurves, many would say I needed to post somewhere else, "this was predominantly a compound site"..I don't visit there any longer, this place is class for sure.
Yeah I know what you mean. I see a few people that always seem to have a condescending tone to their post, not a good way to come across as a teacher. Funny thing is I don't see any of those people posting here on this thread.
Keep up the good work!

Went to "the other site" to see what you were talking about. I am not a power poster, mostly just read. They are saying, if I post a question or picture of a non sponsor, the post will disappear or that I will be banned. Is this true?
Been a member almost from day one. Do not even visit anyother sites anymore. Thanks for keeping it clean Terry and gang.
Yep, know what ya mean about the rides to and from camp Terry.
Yep, Its home for me :knothead: :goldtooth:
I have been pondering on this thread since I read it yesterday afternoon. Actually it was not this one, but the one that has vaporized.
I got on this site in 2007, have posted just under 5000 times and have spent countless enjoyable hours doing photo walkabouts for the "Gang". It has been a blast for the most part and I thank you Terry and Rob, and the Gang for the privilege to be included.
Lately there has been a tension in the air and it seems that you really need to make sure all your t's are crossed and i's are dotted before you post.
I am not a "basher" or a "pot stirrer" (unless I'm making a batch of my turkey noodle soup) but I do enjoy honest, respectful, opinions and discussion. That makes a healthy conversation.
It would really be a sad day if everyone just all nodded there head the same way, that is not me. I like hearing other peoples point of view and ideas and likewise, I like sharing mine. No disrespect, no bashing, and no pot stirring. If someone took it that way, that was not the intention.
Some of us seem to draw more attention from the moderators than others, and in some cases it is deserved. Some it is not.
I do not believe that any of us here have written the book on"Archery" and yet there are a few that would like you to believe that yes indeed, they are the "Author". We are all entitled to our opinion, and we all owe it to each other to share that in a "respectful" manner. I have always tried to abide by that.
So Terry, if you would please remove my name from the member status I would very much appreciate it. Unfortunately my ride here is over and I have to thank you once again.
Good Shooting,
Craig

Very sad to hear this Craig...... :dunno:
The man has a point. Bill
yep it seems every year or two we get a rash of behavior outside of the rules for this forum. Some decide to change their behavior and others decide to leave. Either way it's best for the forum.
Good Luck to those that leave in search of something different and welcome to those that stay.
Mike
Craig -
I think you should reconsider my friend. We value your input and conversation. We don't want to see good people like yourself leave.
I think this issue is mainly due to a lot of cabin fever that is built up with some of our members. Seems these internet sites heat up about now over some of the silliest things.
Tradgang is the only site where I like to visit now a days.I have lost all respect for the other big site due to the constant arguments and lack of respect that is displayed over there. I feel right at home here. I understand the moderation and direction that is being provided here versus the other sites. I believe that Tery and team is trying to keep things civilized and traditional archery related. I respect that.
Ron
trad gang rules are simple and easy for even kids to understand.
registrants get to see them and agree to them.
the rules link in is everyone's profile to use as a reference.
before you type up a post there's even a little reminder to please think before you type.
members get either a time out or get banned for continually and blatantly bypassing the rules.
we give them all every opportunity to get back on course, but when they don't, when they prefer using their rules of engagement, there's a penalty to pay.
it's almost predictable that most who unfortunately need to get banned immediately fly off an irate email to trad gang specifying that they knew they'd get banned, and why.
then they go off to another archery site and bemoan their fate, seeking commissary from others.
it is what is is, i s'pose.
kids.....time outs... Wow. Bill

yup. sad.
Your house your rules, simple,I totally respect that. This is a site meant to help like minded people without putting someone down just to get your point across.Sorry Bill, but some GROWN UPS still need to be treated like kids.Wingnut you pretty much said it.Thanks again to the mods.

Well said Craig, I could not agree with you more. The country is in this sad state because Men have gone completely PC and turned in their "Man Cards" in an attempt to please and stroke the ego's of everyone around them. I served this country in war on more than one occasion, if we can not have free speech (every where) and I do not mean threats or disrespect but free honest opinions, then what the hell did we all serve for? Someone up top needs to reach out and bring Craig back and lets put this behind us.
TG is the only site I post topics/ comments on because of the standards of respect. I know I can be wrong, but not ridiculed here. Not about "pc" " being a man", or sensitive but some people just aren't happy unless they're arguing and I don't need that. If your form is perfect, if you never make a bad shot ( but tell me I don't belong in the woods because I did), you believe paradox doesn't exist in real life, and your arrows zip through shoulder blades when shot from low poundage bows-- find a way to share with me how I can get those results. I do believe TG members are a cut above what I encounter on other sites where it's easy to be perfect from your keyboard.
Keep up the good work TG!
What was this thread started over? I briefly scanned the first page when Terry first posted it but then kinda got distracted by other threads. I'm on here almost obsessively LOL and somehow I missed out on the drama?? I know we have heated discussions sometimes where terms like "horsefeathers" get thrown around, LOL, but what happened? Monkeyball, don't leave!!
I kind of sympathize with Monkeyball. I think these " hail to the chief" threads do nothing to forward this forum. Its airing dirty laundry as far as I'm concerned.
Every year this thread comes up again in some form....
Hail to Chief! we cry. I love this site but wish these would go the way of the wounded deer threads....
there's a sincere, and unfortunate reason why a thread like this needs to get created every so often.
NO ONE wants to see a member get sent out the door. that's just both crazy and sad!
NO ONE wants to have to remind SOME of the membership of the trad gang rules, but clearly its necessary every so often.
a thread like this is just a way of reminding SOME folks to please Please PLEASE follow the rules.
that's all, no more or less.
please do continue to enjoy the fellowship and excellent flow of traditional bowhunting information and talk that the trad gang forums provides to y'all.
thank you.

X 10!!!
Rob,
You may THINK they are necessary.... I believe behind the scenes you and Terry deal with your share of grief.
But for the rest of us.... Keep it behind the scenes.
I would wager you turn off more people than you help with these threads.
Jeff
I always read the rules each time I log onto this site,
"Expect to be respected if you decide to join the gang, because the rule of respect is held highest of the few rules that apply. Tradgang.com has a zero tolerance for disrespect directed to anyone."
I have felt disrespected more times by the admin than I have by any of the other member of this site.
I would also like my name removed from the member status.
I'm guilty...I'm guilty...I'm guilty.
I got mad and BASHED one of my box traps up against a tree and later that evening I STIRRED THE POT. Hey, I had too or the deer chili would have burned. Oh yeah, I calmed down and fixed the trap and the chili was GREAT.
No better trad site on the net and the people behind the scenes are top notch in my book.
No problem with this type thread coming up every now and then just to remind people how this place is run. WITH RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER.
Once again, some of you guys are just looking way to deep into this....listen to what Rob is saying please!
If threads like this offend there is nothing we can do about that, some folks naturally take things the wrong way... And some are just thin skinned and take everything personally.
Your guys have no idea what Rob and Terry deal with, and to a lesser extent any of us who help in some way or another!!
Unfortunately reminder threads really are necessary, just the reality of running a site like this and keeping it's focus in the right direction.
If you feel like it's wrong, again that's your opinion.. But thank goodness the majority of our membership understand, are willing to help out on threads, following the guidelines, and sending mod alerts when they see something that isn't right.
I think the thread is a good idea from time to time but it does seem to go on forever which seems to cause some discontent of it's own. Instead of a thread how about a "broadcast" PM to all members with a reminder? I do admire and thank the mods for their jobs of keeping this a civil site, no swearing, no sex. We do have ladies and underage people visiting here and that conduct is not acceptable.
I will fess up, this is only one of 6 trad sites I visit, each has something to offer as I am not just a " Bowhunter". There are times I may seek info on equipment or other types of archery and I do not feel welcome posting those questions here. But this is not the only site that makes me feel that way so that is a big reason I visit other sites.
thank for listening, nothing else to confess.
Tom M
I see nothing wrong with a reminder thread now and then. If it bothers "you", then maybe your posting habits need attention! I believe that is the idea of this thread, getting all of us to walk the line a little tighter to keep trad gang the great site that it already is!
Wow....didn't realize few would mistake this thread as a 'hail to the chief' instead of an announcment post bent out of piled up frustrations of people pushing and pushing.
Sorry !!!!!!
