Today was our annual Traditonal Bowhunters Of Maryland Rabbit Hunt. Unfortunately like the past couple of years, something comes up and I can't make the hunt. But later on I grabbed the longbow and went out to do some scouting and stumping while looking for some shed antlers. I was out for a few hours, but did not find any sheds. But I did find some nice rubs in one area approx. 80 yards from one of my treestands. Here are the rubs I found.

My treestand is approx. 17 yards from where he is standing, but I never laid eyes on him while hunting. I am hoping he survived the season.
The money shot while stumping @ 48 yards(LOL).

BTW Nice shot !

Looks like a fun day!! Dandy buck too!!
Cool. I went out stumping behind the house yesterday, and managed to bust one of my carbons. I noticed the insert was a little loose and snot another stump with it anyways. Bad idea, it shoved the insert back into the shaft.
Wow, great pics and looks like a great day in the woods!
Looks like a good afternoon Tony. What bow are you shooting?
bretto
It looks like a fun day, I hope that buck makes it through to next year for you. I'm also wondering what bow you're shooting, that's a real looker.

That's a fine looking buck, Tony! Hope you get a crack at him next season. What kind of bow is that you are toting? It looks sweet!
Bisch
Tony, saw a 130-140 class buck yesterday still carrying and he gad a smaller 8 with him. Was hunting Charles co and had a 3 pt at 13 steps but no does. Then saw a half rack run across the road coming home.
Looks like a great way to kill some time Tony!
He will be bigger next season Tony!
Next season could be intresting for you. Where exactly did you say this was? :bigsmyl:
Great pictures Tony, those woods look gorgeous. I am also curious as to what bow your shooting.
Great afternoon for it Tony! Good luck on finding him in the fall.
 If the snow ever stops I'll be out doing the same thing.
About to head out to camp to do the same thing in the morning , gona be a good day...

Looks like a day well spent in the woods. Hopefully you will have better luck next time on finding some sheds.
Wow, that's a nice buck!
Awesome photos! Thanks for sharing.
I've gotten to where I enjoy this time of year about as much as any. I love to get out and stump shoot and walk around looking for sheds.
That deer is a stud! He will be there next year with less competition im guessing! Be prepared to keep it together at full draw on that hoss!!!!
Great pics. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Great pics. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Great pics. Good luck with that buck in the future! thanks for sharing!
Thanks fellows for your comments. It was a good day to just be out in the woods enjoying the walk with a trad bow in hand. The bow is a 64" Fox Royalcrown Longbow that I ordered from Ron King at the PBS Banquet in 2008 in Pittsburgh,PA. It is 58Lbs @ my 31 1/2" draw. The handle is cocobolo and shedua and the limbs are bamboo. Believe me when I say, it is a nice smooth shooting bow. Here are a few more pics the same day.

Thanks for sharing, Tony. As always, great to see pictures of stumping. Would've been out there my self if it was'nt for all that danged snow.
Tony, thanks for taking us along!
I love winter, the deeper the snow and the deeper the cold the better. But looking out at the 2 ½ feet of snow here, I am quite jealous right now of those bare woods of yours. Thanks for sharing!
Great pics, can't wait for all this snow to be gone. Looks like a fun time, good luck with that nice buck!
thanks Tony!! im itching to take my buddy out stumping.. as soon as this 3 feet of snow is gone, we're going.. i love walking in the woods and shooting at whatever i feel like and not worrying about losing an arrow. (usually )
Nice looking buck tony looks like you know where he's hanging out ...BEST OF LUCK hunting him this year!
Nice looking woods, and a nice day. Good for you to still get out. :archer2:
That looks like some nice country. That's a nice bow,and buck. Looks like you had a nice outing.
Great post, thanks for sharing!
Looks like a great way to spend the day! Thanks for sharing.
Tony,
Have you ever hunted on the Aberdeen proving grounds? Do they still permit hunting there?
Tedd
Hi Tedd. I tried to get to hunt Aberdeen proving grounds over 25 years ago. I went and paid my money, pass the broadhead sharpness test and qualified with my recurve and I was still not able to hunt because I needed someone to sponsor me. Well I was never able to get a sponsor and I have not been back since. I don't know how it is now, but it could be different now.
Tony
Tony looks like you had a great time! I hope you can connect on that buck next year!
Great outing Tony!! Sure looks like you have some good hunting to look forward to next fall!!!
Thanx for sharing brother :campfire:
Nice pics Tony and thanks for taking us along.... :campfire:
Great pics Tony! It's nice to finally get out and take a few layers off, it's been pretty darn cold lately. It seems the only times I find sheds is when I'm not looking for them.... :dunno:
awesome, i love those carefree days in the woods, thats a dandy buck,Tony, just when ya kill him, dont let him jump in the river :)
Great afternoon Tony, enjoy plotting your strategy for this fall.
Tony, nice lookin bow, sooo much snow here, just hard to get in woods. You pictures take me away for a while....thanks
From the looks of those trees he's been rubbing there for years. Fine lookin country I hope you stick him. Are you a bridge engineer
Thanks for taking us along Tony! Sweet bow and good luck with that buck!
Ha ha. No Possum Head, I am not a bridge engineer(LOL). I am a retired Mechanical Engineering Navy Tech. Thanks once again fellows for all the kind words, well wishes and comments. I don't want to wish my spring and summer away, but come on September. Shoot Straight and Good Hunting.
