Well I have mentioned several times that I would like to shoot a tab but cant due to either the tab slapping my face or pain in my fingers... Last night I had a idea out of no where, I need 2 tabs.. 1 that is homemade out of thin leather that will extend past my BW 3 under tab... I trimmed the BW tab until I stopped getting face slap (this is when my fingers start taking abuse) then the thin long tab protects my fingers... Shot about 75 arrows last night and had no pain at all and a lot cleaner release I think.. Just thought I would share my little victory haha

great find. Isn't the BW tab multi layer ? Why not cut the heavy front layers and leave the back layer alone ?

Thats a great plan for the future Chuck, I trimmed the tab about a year ago...
Check out the SAM tabs at 3Rivers. Same basic idea

Both of my BW tabs have a longer suede tab next to the fingers, then rubber, then the heavy leather is shorter.

I've used the SAM tab since it came on the scene. Bought it at the 1992 Great Lakes Longbow Invitational, and IT IS STILL GOING!! Back then they were hand made and are probably now factory produced, so can't speak for the current ones' longevity. :archer2:
X2 on the SAM tab.
I bought a couple of BW tabs awhile back and tried them out with so-so feelings toward them.
Here a couple of months ago I was given a BW tab that had been cut down short like the one in your picture.
I laughed at first thinking it was ruined by the previous owner. I was shooting in the house one day and grabbed this tab just because it was handy. WOW what a difference over the stock tab.
I couldn't stop using it over my old Calf Hair tab. Such a cleaner release and no slap of the layers hitting each other. < The main reason I couldn't stand using them.
I now have 4 BW tabs trimmed down and ready for service.
